OK so managed to get the car for Wheel alignment.

Found an issue with the Rear right trailing arm. It was pretty clear that the Caster on the rear right was out. The Wheel was too far to the rear of the car. BUt figured MAYBE its just alignment. lol

Alignment confirmed that :(
Got second opening from Forum member and Looks like its BENT!! :bravo:
Maybe not the trailing arm itself but the hub maybe or the Parts of it that Control arm and Wishbone mounts to.

Left side is perfect, wheel is centred

Right side is clearly out

Found a guy close to my area that will give me the Rear right trailing arm for Cheap
Will collect this end of the week

During my google search, I found no side by side comparison of the Sensor i had and the sensor i needed.
So people could not tell the difference in length of the one i needed

SO HERE IS THE FIRST IMAGE SIDE BY SIDE!!!:

One on left was sensor i needed. Part Number 34521166126
One on Right was the Sensor on my Wagon. Part Number 34521164370

OK.. Sensor installed ( No DIY as there is LOADS of it online )

IT WORKS ....... kinda :roflol:

So pulling away, from stop, the needle does not work.
when i get to about 20km/h, the needle jumps up to 80km/h

it then bounces between 60-80km/h

when i get to about 60km/h+ then it all works 100% ok

NOW, I have cleaned the sensor and im 100% sure the sensor is ok

How do i know this? i may have F'ed up the Tone ring...

YES, I M##RED the CV JUST BEHIND THE TONE RING WHILE TRYING TO INSTALL THE SIDE SHAFT OUT OF ANGER AND FRUSTRATION!!!!

And yes, the ring broke loose in few places...

So i gave myself more work. Have to remove that side shaft again and replace the outer CV ( Have the orginal one fromt he broken side shaft ) and i have to remove the driver side one as i saw the CV boot is Torn open... need to replace the boot too.

While im under, going to drop the exhaust and heat shield and check the prop and Centre bearing to see if i can sort out the vibration. Otherwise it will have to go for balancing

Also installing the new front control arm bushes, Splash trays etc etc etc

Update

few things happened since last post

I bought the new trailing arm from guy who turned out to be my cousins Friend and stays 2 doors away from my cousin.

Got a good deal on it.
Installed the new arm and ALL IS PERFECT!!!!!
The old/bent trailing arm ( Its being compared to the 325s )
One on top is the Bent one, and bottom is 325s
9k5lki.jpg

Notice that the Curve on the 325's is tighter???

New arm
2u7q63s.jpg

Its installed and All lined up

Also, to address the crap i caused with the tone/ABS ring, I was too lazy to Remove the driveshafts myself so i took it to Driveshaft Centre in durbanville..

Leonard assisted me, AWESOME SERVICE...
the OUTER Cv does not look like a serviceable as the shaft had a pinch in it keeping the cv in...
So he removed the tone/abs ring from donar CV i had and fitted to mine.
he also fitted the CV boot onto the drivers side shaft and greased everything nicely

20rsqia.jpg

Now my Speedo works 100% ok..

Took delivery of my New Sensor from Agents, bought new shocks, Fitted the Msport Springs (front only), installed some Cree LED Spots ( waiting for the headlights ), Installed the front 330i brakes...

So there ABS lights are off, speedo works, blah blah blah blah..

NOW, i started getting a "Diff Whine" on deceleration when driving 80km/h+. only on deceleration, in any gear, and only between rev range of 1500 and 2000rpm

Was told its bearings and Parts alone will be ALLOT!!!!

So i drained the oil from the diff and i saw no metal filings.
New oil and the whine was still there..

So i managed to get a second hand 3.38 ratio 330i diff..
Installed..

this car pulls harder in 1st,2nd and 3rd.. and feels much quicker.. but that issue is sorted

installed the Control arm bushes and thats sorted

Only thing left is to Do an oil and oil filter change and install new Brake pad sensors.

Also, the prepping has started on the body work

and since im turning this wagon into a Motorsport, and its kinda unique to me, I figured it needs a fitting colour

i opted to go with Messing Metallic ( Brass Metallic ). 1 of the Individual Colours

I searched entire internet and only found 1 wagon in this colour and it looks so good

Can anyone confirm if this is the correct colour code?? (Brass metallic)

I want to get a sample batch made this weekend and will tackle a panel and see what it looks like
