+1

Get a 3/8" for low nm and a 1/2" for higher up.

Im most likely going to get ZF to do it but just charge me for labour as I want to supply the oil also most likely 10liters of oil so that the box can be flushed and refilled:=):
ah ok, let me know how it goes, i am yet to do my thermostat as i cannot find a decent torque wrench that starts from 10nm
Wurth store roughly R2400
Starts at 2Nm
1/2 inch drive

So update time  Andy and I decided that the E46s need some love today.

on the cards for the day was crank pulley changes for both cars, it took just over an hour to do Andys E46 first and then mine slightly longer because its much harder to lock the auto flywheel in place

the pulleys are fucking heavy btw, Andys had a slight tear on it but not bad and mine looked fine, however both cars had a squeak, squeal when switching of with the old pulleys, this sound has now gone

the car is sleeping over at Andys house tonight and we are doing swirl flap blanks and replacing all the vacuum lines tomorrow with new ones tomorrow  also replacing the rubber o ring on the "hot side" of my boost pipe as mine seems to be missing in action:fencelook: Big ups to Andy for helping me today and dropping me off at home. he is a true fanatic always willing to help :praise:

so allot more work was done today, replaced all the vacuum lines to 4mm hose, dont get 5mm as you will create a vacuum leak amd feel like you driving an old isuzu 250d :fencelook: swirl flap balanks done, cleaned intake manifold and the associated sensors as well as deleted the vacuum lines for the engine mounts, egr and swirl flaps.the car feels so much better after replacing the lines as I suspect i may have had a vacuum leak at 167 xxxkm the lines were totally fucked and brittle so its a must, swirl flaps were in good condition and still stuff but good peace of mind that they gone, we could not get the o ring for the boost pipe so there is still some boost escaping, I will get o rings tomorrow for the pipes and replace, it might make a difference :=): once again thank you to Andy for all the help as he has done this before and showed me all the tips and tricks

items swirl flap blanks, 4mm hose, carb cleaner and electrical cleaner

Engine before removal of manifold

@Nikhil, how many km's do you have on your clock that you had the swirl flaps done? Did you do an EGR delete as well or just swirl flaps?

Afaik he's done the egr by blocking the vacuum lines. There have been people who's flaps have broken under 100 000kms and then mine were still in tact at around 400 000kms

swirl flaps...sigh..I've ordered the blanking plates for my E90, only on 111 000 km's, but maybe it seems like good idea to just get it done when I receive my blanking plates...but wanted to know if I could just leave the egr as is or do you have to do an egr delete?

mines at 167 xxx km but the E90s are not known to swallow flaps. do the Egr delete, the only benefit is emissions. everything else it does has a negative impact on the engine.
