Afaik he's done the egr by blocking the vacuum lines. There have been people who's flaps have broken under 100 000kms and then mine were still in tact at around 400 000kms

swirl flaps...sigh..I've ordered the blanking plates for my E90, only on 111 000 km's, but maybe it seems like good idea to just get it done when I receive my blanking plates...but wanted to know if I could just leave the egr as is or do you have to do an egr delete?

mines at 167 xxx km but the E90s are not known to swallow flaps. do the Egr delete, the only benefit is emissions. everything else it does has a negative impact on the engine.

thanx. will have to do some reading around the egr delete, will keep the blanking plates then till I do the egr delete and maybe do togetha. Still worried about swirl flaps though as I've got the earlier M47 motor which was the same motor in the late E46's

Then it will definitely be worth it

Uhm no :) They're quick but not that quick.

Exactly lol, the last time we raced I got a hiding of note

i wouldnt call it a hiding of note...,

i would have loved to assist with these diy, even if it just means passing spanners.

With all the volunteers I’m sure Andy and myself can start a workshop with free assistants. Got an o ring kit from work today so will make new ones for both the boost pipes when I get home :joy:

Easy Nikhil, but you will a puller and some dishwashing liquid. On the front you loosen the two bolts and pull the bush off using a puller. Apply dishwashing liquid to control and new bush and it will slide over quite easily.

The rear is not that easy. :fencelook:

Awesome stuff, I believe putting the bushes in the freezer for a few hours also helps when fitting. Hmm the rear does look like a challenge, will leave that for the professionals

my plan so far is
1 decat
2 control arm bushes and rear trailing arm bushes .
3 deflap (if i can find blanks :( )
4 vacuum lines

You dont need blanks to delete swirl flaps.
And you will only find blanks on ebay.
