Drive by clip & does it blip in between shifts ?

I'll try take one this weekend. It does blip a bit sometimes yeah. Not quite "vrrr-pah" or anything though. Blips are more apparent in eco-pro mode, surprisingly enough. Although its been awhile since I fully opened her up.

As far as the sound goes... well, there are pros and cons. Does it sound meaner? yes. Does it sound satisfying putting foot? immensely. Do I feel like a twat starting the car early in the morning for work? and leaving work after 8h? yes. Cold start is VERY loud. It turns heads. It has enthusiasts turning heads in a good way, thinking it sounds great. It has coworkers and my fiance' sighing because its annoying.
I also have some drone in the cabin at the start. And people always want to race me in their beat-up modified cars.

I've found an adequate way to fix the drone, which I will be doing sometime soon.. But that cold start is a tough pill to swallow sometimes. Its made me consider going back to my stock setup. I would buy a nice new fancy exhaust, but as I said with the new house, I just dont have the cash flow.

For you to consider that it must really be a tough pill to swallow.
Maybe modify the standard setup to reduce the drone?

I was thinking of taking it to powerflow and seeing if they have some sort of solution. maybe some "small mufflers" to put on each pipe. Im not sure if they even could do that though. I really love the current look of the ride though, so Id love an alternate cheaper solution.

I did a bit of research, and for drone inside there is essentially a "hole" above the exhaust tips visible once you remove the rear diffuser. This leads right into the boot of the car, causing the drone to be heard. Simply covering this area up with some dampening material (that silver lining used to insulate the roof in houses has been successfully used before) does wonders apparently.

Hopefully they can sort you out because that setup is awesome. Yeah we see 335i's with that setup but for some reason yours looks better haha.

To fix the drone you need the backbox.. I would consider taking your OEM backbox and modifying it.. I have an OEM 335i backbox lying around at home with the Exhaust Valve.. Still considering what I want to do with it.. But my 335i is now no longer my daily! She is parked off

Heres a quick hack to prevent the possibility of over spray...

Im always hesitant to do this, I dont trust the strength of the mirror glass. On my previous F20, I cracked the glass trying to remove it (albeit I did it like a chop) and it cost me 2k to replace :rage:
So needless to say I now have a phobia of going this route.
This happened to me recently lol. That mirror is so fragile on the f20

So nothing major to report. My car just came back from a pretty great wash and wax. Took the plastidip off my rims (not sure if I said this already.. but really loving the normal look of the 403M rims... Plastidip started to look tatty)
... And I got some small minor upgrades to keep myself happy for now.

///M valve caps, and 2 round rubber M "coasters" for inside my cupholders to protect against scratches.

Loving my small touches. Really wish I didn't just buy a house so I had cash for some more upgrades. Looking at a metal charge pipe, air intake upgrade, new tires, proper gloss CF interior pieces (although my vinyl wrap still looks good), fitting the bigger screen inside.. eish the list goes on.

Those look mooi Luke, your car has come a long way. Out of all the mods you have done, the rear end is my most favorite :smilebounce:

I like this ring mod over the entire red button mod.. Looks nice, you imported it?

Yeah, also prefer it.
Imported from AliExpress. Actually seems like good quality, time will tell
