Question was this the original thick Lamin-X?

My fogs are genuine Lamin-X and no issues. My headlamps are VPS shields and are 100%.

Odd for it to crinkle up like that? One should also be removing the lights and wrapping around the housing. :coolShake:

Nope! Most definitely not original. It was advertised as such by a local place (Auto-Styling) but I knew it wasn't because of the price. Thought I'd try a cheapie to see if I liked it first, so no major loss.

And it crinkles straight in the middle. Got a ridge, I presume from the heat (was a hot day), not even around the rim

100% no loss in trying to see what it looks like.

My fogs are DIY - the headlights / my previous F30's tail lights were done by more professional people, sometimes best to have them do it, they have paid the schools fees to know to do it properly or clients just come back each week to have it redone.. :coolShake:

Like I said in the 100% ideal they remove the lamps and wrap it around as well.

Looking forward to your next set of Mods. :praise::clapper:

Looking forward to the mod mate. Just saw that the have blacklines for the lci f30, they look pretty great. Luke man ypur car is going to look really epic. Are you going to go with the exact exhaust tip size or you going to make them a bit bigger?

I'm not entirely sure yet! I've got my eye on a set of Akrapovic tips, but I'll probably just lookout for something else. Wanting to go a bit bigger than standard, but not by much. I'm not entirely sure what size would be good yet.

Yeah! You're 100% correct. The last thing I want is the car to look like a cheap hack-job.

Thanks guys for the feedback! I know I'm not rocking the most powerful engine, but it's something I enjoy doing. Glad you guys are interested in the stuff I try out!

I finally did it, a much needed exhaust mod. So long pathetic single pipe, and hello over-kill double exhaust:rollsmile:
Also got a performance diffuser

Sweet tha looks good. Those are big tips, I like it!

Is it a dual box? Do both pipes work?

Thanks! yeah both pipes work. The box is gone, so its free-flow pipes connected with a Y-piece where the box used to be, adjusted/angled to allow flow through both pipes

Thanks guys, I'll try post a vid tomorrow. Sounds very aggressive on cold-start, I like it.
Definitely noisier inside the car as well, which I'm not so sure I like yet. Great when I want that sporty feeling- a little annoying when I want an easy morning drive.

I have heard that that the pipe setup can cause drone, sounds mean at full tilt but yes when cruising can get to one..

Make us a sound clip soon

Excuse the poor quality and bad attempt at hiding my plate haha, but you get the idea.

when it warms up it doesn't run as loud.

:clapper: well done! Looks and sounds good.

May i ask where and for how much did you get the pipes done? Cheers

I got it done at powerflow in East London. I think it's a chain though, so they probably have branches elsewhere. I was very satisfied with the service.

There were two options, stainless steel (which I went for) or mild steel which was cheaper. Stainless steel cost about R2500 including tips. Mild steel was about R2000 including tips. The stainless steel comes with a full 3 year warrenty on the work done.
Really not a bad price and makes the world of difference. Especially once it warms up, I can't emphasize it enough. The purfecr balance of sounding aggressive but not trying too hard. On cold start (like in the vid) it's rather loud until actual driving starts.

I first tried Steven at Some and I auto, as it was a good price, but I had to arrange my own courier to East London which was a mission. I ended up getting it from Carbon Sport who couriered it to me. I would have got from CF accessories, as I usually use them, but they didn't have the one with the dual cut-outs
