Yeah, its rather annoying. the cover gives it a comfortable thickness as well.

Tried my hand on some coding last night. Managed to program that the auto stop/start is off by default (thank the pope) and that it maintains its last state even after the car powers off.
Also got tire temp and pressure to be displayed in the i-Drive.

I wanted to code folding mirrors, but it seems that one actually needs to have electronic mirrors.. I thought it was standard, but I guess not! Oh well

What are you using to code?

I'd also like to disable auto stop/start

A laptop and, and E-Sys software, and a little know-how. Not too difficult to do, hit me up with a PM or something if you want some steps

Some good effort put in - this post makes me wish i was 20 again with lots of money to spend on the things that makes you feel alive after such great accomplisments

This is really well done and documented

Ey those days passed me man :hammerhead: I'm 26 with a house and a fiancé now.. want that front lip and side skirt extensions? HOW ABOUT SOME BOND PAYMENT INSTEAD. Life was so good when I got the car.. now everything with it moves slooowly, and usually one step backwards first

I must say though, as far as cosmetic mods are concerned... They're a lower priority with the ride now. Need to focus on getting some new tires, a proper detail, and a proper engine service to keep her running smooth for the next few years I rate.

It's with a heavy heart that I post this.

It's been a fun ride, my sweet white-lighting/stormtrooper. But alas, you and I must part ways. I wish for many happy miles for you and your new owner. Good bye my friend.:blueCry:

Yes guys (well, the three people that follow my thread :roflol:) I've sold my BMW. I still love the car, and BMW is in my family's blood, but I wanted a car that was still under motor plan. I should have extended before I hit the 100k mark, but I thought I was smart. (I suppose I was? Not a single major issue out of plan) but I lived every day with a small fear in the back of my mind that something could happen and I could go "broke". Once I bought a house, I just didn't have the extra cash for an unforseen expense like that.

So I've moved on to something a lot newer, a lower mileage, and WAY more tech inside that speaks to my inner nerd. It's not a BMW, so I won't post here (though I really wish this forum would expand to other cars... There are no good south African other car forums I've found)

Thanks guys for following my car's journey!
