Wowsers, only saw this thread today... Hope u get to the bottom of it Gizmo.

75% into the thread i was like burn this car at the stake.

But big ups to the REAL mechanics with the drive and passion for these spectacular cars, to make sure they are in proper working order.

Despite numerous efforts asking him to pay up he made it known to me that he would do no such thing so I have accepted that the mistake is mine for releasing the vehicle under the false pretences that he would EFT the same evening. Its a costly lesson on my part for placing trust in people, just goes to show you cannot be too careful in SA, even on our forum and its members that we call family. He is young and has a lot to learn about business ethics, karma will get the better of him...

Eish bro.. Sorry to hear that. I will be very frank and say that you needed a lot more respect than that. But it's one of those things where one tries to believe in the good in people. Like you say lesson learnt.

You still the man dude..

That's terrible Gizmo... Here's hoping the guy at leasts posts his side of the story if there is one or does what a responsible, honest Fanatic would do and pay up.

Looks like we need to implement a process where we interview and do background checks before allowing anyone to register. We don't want any special "grandchildren" anymore!!

Sad reality is that we got to aware ourselves of "scam artists" within our trusty community.

This is terrible , I only seen this thread now , Looks like you guys spent alot of time on that car as well , Lots of hard work .
Whats his reason for not paying you for your work?
I see his still on the forum .

I would have him banned of the forum and any meets.

Whats his reason for not paying up??

You guys out there that do this to people who help you out!!! Karma is a bitc..

Sort out who u owe money too. Gizmo will back me up here, when you loose money on your time and labour it sucks, but you can still move on, but when you buy spares and dont get your money thats a hard one to swallow.

Especially where this is your job you do to put food on the table, not a hobby or a past time. Zayed should hang his head in shame, if he has valid reason for not paying up let him speak up!

His excuse was that the clutch still took low down after I had done the gearbox repairs, I explained to him that the fault was with the clutch or master/slave cylinder but he is young and doesn't understand how the mechanical components of a car work so he pegged the blame on my gearbox work and refused to pay up. He put a rush on me towards the end of the job as he wanted to take the car down to Durban for his December holidays and I didn't have the time to diagnose the true culprit to the low taking clutch issue, I was supposed to get the car back after the holidays to finish the job but he subsequently crashed head-on into another motorist and being 21 without insurance that was the end of that story...I still offered to organise him the parts to fix his M3 but he wasn't interested, some people refuse to accept help when offered to them...:thumbdo:

Luckily Peter didn't have any issues in his dealings with him but thats because Peter has a lot more experience in the business world where I am only starting out...

Sorry Gizmo :( after all that hard work , he goes and crashes the car , very disappointing , Still whatever happened he still owes you money for work done and parts used . If you buy a car on HP , don't insure it , and you crash it , you still ow the bank money, the debt does not just disappear.
Cant believe he spent so much on it and didn't have it insured. What was he thinking.

Gentleman there is always 3 sides to a story so lets wait for Zayed to explain himself.

@Gizmo since when does being 21 mean you will not have insurance? You keep referencing age as being one of the reasons for non payment which I find rather insulting.

I am Zayd . The owner of the m3 . My car first went to Peter . And everything that he said he would fix , he fixed or is fixing .. I have spent close to R60 K on it and he did not have to wait more than a day for his money . I did not have to wait more than a day for his attention and services . I respect him for the entire gentleman he is . Warren on the other hand made me take my car to him and it sat , there for a month and I had to collect it as he did not have time for it . No work was done .I then took the car back to fix the oil leak from the sump and my gearbox and clutch problem After plus minus another 2 months , after having to constantly put pressure on him to finish the car , I got the car back . Gearbox , clutch and oil leak were the same as when it had gone to him . All the other stuff that you see in the pictures were done . I paid him half the money , ( I also paid him 3000 before he started for parts ) . The full money was not paid as the job was incomplete . If anyone has doubts , you can ask Peter about my dealing with him .
I would have expected Warren to do the work correctly for the money he charged.

Come to think of it ...
This happened in December last year , I did not post about it on they forum and find it strange that Warren has drawn ATTENTION to this .

If this discussion is going to continue on the forum please move it to another section the clutch work was not done at Axis Engine Works and all the work done by Peter was paid for in full on time as far as i remember

dont want to ruin this thread with a depute that does not involve Axis
hope you can resolve this so both sides are happy

So you did pay for the work that was compete and parts ? The portion you did not pay was the work that wasnt done ?

The reason I brought it up is because I tried politely for the last time yesterday via whatsapp to collect the money owing to me. You said you have no interest in paying it and called me a criminal...so here we are.

As I have said to you many times, I only billed you for the work I did on your car. At no point did I bill you for work I didn't do. I only expect to be paid for the work I did do because it is rightfully my money. You cannot refute that the work wasn't done because I posted all the work I carried out on your vehicle. Yes there was more work to be completed like the leaking sump gasket and clutch master cylinder but I never billed you for those items as I hadn't done them yet...
You say you spent R60k with Peter yet you won't pay me the R4393 you still owe me?

As far as the time frames go, you brought the car to me the beginning of September just before I went away to MP province on holiday. I already had 3 e36s that had come in before yours that needed attention first and it was irresponsible of me to take on so much work and I asked if you could collect your car and bring it back at a later date so I could clear the cars that had come in before you. You brought the car back the 20th of October and my work on your car started.

Dieselfan, I have tried the offline privately route and got nowhere with him, so now it has to go online publicly and get the exposure.

Nikhil, he is 21 and he is uninsured, I didn't say they go hand in hand but it is what it is...

I am somewhat astounded to read this thread.

Specifically the issue with regards the accident that Zayd had........I am of the opinion that whether he is 21 insured uninsured young a good driver a bad driver or whatever else has little to do with the thread.

In adition I find it distasteful that things discussed in private are aired on the forum.
Warren you have no right whatsoever to publish on a public forum issues raised with you privately,as if it were not for me calling to ask for your assistance in locating inexpensive body parts for the car you would likely not have known about the accident that Zayd had.
I feel betrayed and abused and it is a fact that one is never old enough not to learn. I have learned my lesson well!

With regards and I quote "Luckily Peter didn't have any issues in his dealings with him but thats because Peter has a lot more experience in the business world" I wish to state for all following this thread that Zayd has been an absolute gentleman in his dealings with me and continues to be.

To the rest of the community I would urge you to restrain yourselves from passing judgement or adding fuel to this debate.

Peter I have great respect towards you and continue to confide in you but in the end of the day, you are not the one out of pocket here, I am.
Zayd texted me on the 14th of Jan asking if I had a front bumper, bonnet, right fender, fender liner and valance for his car, I said I did not have any of those items and said they are scarce parts. On the 26th of Jan I had found the items he needed and said I could supply him with them if he settled his debt with me, he never replied...

Warren the reason he texted you was at my request I have never betrayed a confidence yet you choose to betray one over money...........clearly you have once again missed the point and this time I shall not explain it to you.

This is my final word on the matter and I consider it closed.

Very interesting and lesson learning thread , there are always many sides to a story indeed . One should always listen to all party's before a conclusion is made . Though it's still always good to have insurance . Apologies for jumping to conclusions .
