Thanks for the response guys.

The heat thing seems to be connected to the Auto setting as I've set it to that and have not noticed any heat yet, although I haven't yet driven as far as I did yesterday.

As for the clutch... well... it works just fine. So I'm not going scratch there. Will look at it some other time.

Time for some descent picks (Although I don't have the talent of one Mr Uber Soldat :mmm: )
I've also taken some vidz of the exhaust, but I first have to re-encode them to make them smaller as the camera adds no compression. :hammerhead:

The sub is just mounted as the hole that was already there. Doesn't look like any other modification was done. Sounds pretty awesome :)

I still need to clean the boot properly...

EDIT: Did I mention that ALL the windows are still the original??

Your wood gives me wood. Love the dark wood. And I see yours doesn't have the eighties tape-holder, so you have somewhere close to keep bric-a-brac. I'm growing tired of having to retrieve my phone from the rear footwells after every traffic light.

Damn you guys and your e34 540 :bawling: I really want one.

Awesome car man, the interior and exterior colours go so well together :excited:

Thanks guys

Just remember that the photo's actually hide quite a bit. The front bumper has a lot of tiny chips for example.

I have the phone that goes with the whole setup, but I haven't figured out how it works yet. I've had it in the holder and figured out how it clips in, but it doesn't seem to charge. :dunno:

I put my D900i right next to the gearstick and it doesn't go anywhere. I also put my flat's keys there and they don't anywhere either even when I floored it in first gear the other night. I have this almost carpet type material around the the gear stick which feels a little grippy. Dunno if normal 540's has something else there.

Some bad news though, I've discovered some really bad rust behind the rear left light unit this morning. I have taken some picks with my phone and will ask some of the panel beaters here if anything can be done. Personally I think it will need to be cut out and then I'll need to cut out the same bit from a stripped car that is still in good condition as a replacement piece. The sooner I do it the less they will need to cut out. But I'm no expert :dunno: will see what happens.

Oh... and here is a clip I put together of the exhaust. The clip makes it sound much louder than what it really is. In fact, I think it sounds like a mustang in the clip, but you'll get the idea :thumb:

Some good pics there Nic, guess you have some good subject material to work with...:pimp:

You not considering removing that aftermarket car-kit, it clutters up the interior - did the previous owner not have the original BMW carphone for you? Having that storage compartment instead of the phone might not be a bad compromise though. The surround around the gear lever should be the same wood trim as the dash inserts, this does tend to scratch very easily - possibly why yours may have been covered.

Pity about the rust, hope you get it sorted.

Do you mean for the antenna extension?? There is no grommet there. If I can't get it to work, I'll most likely have the system removed. I'm not in the mood for struggling. I haven't really taken the time to see how it works. I'm to busy with other stuff. :hammerhead:

It's not just for ditching... it's connected into the radio which is coded. I'll have to have BMW do it, but I don't want to be without my wheels right now :)
