Because Vortech superchargers run much cooler than other superchargers, we are not running an intercooler for now. When I can get the correct size cooler and piping and boost 9psi, I will install the cooler, but for now at 4-6psi I will only lose boost pressure due to the parasitic drag of the intercooler. Vortech have confirmed this.

Bob, firstly, your knowledge of every subject known to man absolutely astounds me. Secondly you need to learn to read before replying. I am boosting 4psi while I run the engine in. 9psi when the engine is run in and I am comfortable with the power.

So you reckon my engine will go pop because I ran 4psi with no intercooler. That's a funny story. Maybe you should go work for VF engineering and explain to them why their design is wrong and go change their kits.

Cool story bro.

Oh I forgot... did I mention I was running the engine in.

In case you were unaware of what that means... The car will never see anything above 4000rpm during this period.

You said 4-6 psi dude - I just quoted you.

While I know and respect exactly how much research you've done, fact remains that Gauteng is a bit of a peculiar place for modified cars, with its own unique set of pitfalls... We have crummy inconsistent fuel quality and high altitude to contend with... and while our summers admittedly don't get as hot as California, you're missing an important part of the equation in your statement - HUMIDITY.

Humid air is denser... and California / LA air is plenty humid. 34°C in Joburg at 0-5% humidity is a lot harder on intake charge density than 40°C at 70% humidity.

So go direct your sarcastic response at someone else. I'm offering advice to try and help. If you don't like it, then carry on the way you think is right - but getting your knickers in a knot and being bitchy is offsides.

i havent measured it crash, but dont think its that big as we replaced it with a bigger one in the navara

thought you could you use it as a temporary solution until you get the better one

Just got an IC from Andy's tractor.

My thinking is that it will suffice for low boost purposes.

Let us see.

If we were not SC'ing the car motor would have been mounted and running already.

Yup... e90 cooler. Not sure what the flow rates are of said intercooler. Will do some research on it. But I'm pretty sure it will flow better than some no name brand R1000 IC from Mr. Turbo.

I wanted to mount a Mishimoto IC but their prices doubled over Christmas. So I cancelled that idea.

What boost are e90 330d's running?

I forgot to incorporate altitude correction for the boost, but the stock 330d's run around 20-25 psi.
