Congratulations, what a beauty. How's the fuel consumption on these B48's..and power delivery compared to your previous D E90 LCI?

Thank you.

Comparing consumption between the B48 and e90 320d lci would be a bit unfair. The e90 used to get 5.3l/100km and the B48 gets 8.6l/100km in the same conditions around town. I am not to concerend about fuel economy. I just came from a 3.6l v6 Pentastar so anything else is economical.
I opted for petrol and not a diesel this time for the fun factor and exhaust note. Power delivery is different. The 320d had that kick back into your seat sudden torque from 1500rpm until 4500. Put the B48 gearbox in sport and car in sport plus and it just keeps pulling. Its not the fastest thing in the BMW stable but it works for my needs till I can afford a B58. With the B48 I am actually having more fun than I did in the e90. Took it to the same twisty road 2 weeks ago and had a grand old time.

Thats great to hear man, you still using the double cushion method for you to see over the steering wheel shorty?

Not much to report other than my first long drive with the car. I relocated to Cape town. Left last week Wednesday. Car was packed. Left side of back seat was folded down to load my sound system leaving just enough space for my dog on the right side of the back seat. Boot was full and I had a very heavily loaded trailer hooked to the car. A friend offered to take the drive up with me and flew back down. Left Centurion at around 12h30. cruise control on 130km/h as I was towing a lot of weight. Stopped over in Bloem and managed a average fuel consumption of 8.2l/100km. Next morning left at 7h30 and about 150km into the drive hit a pot hole and almost immediately the tire pressure warning came on. Pulled over, inflated the tire and realised its toast. Coasted to Colesburg and managed to get a replacement left front tire. Spend about 90min there. Left and decided to put the cruise contol on 140km/h. Stopped twice to let my dog stretch her legs and for us to have a smoke. Got to Stellies at 19h30, dropped my friend off and got to Somerset around 20h00. Fuel consumption sat at 9l/100km. I'm very happy with the car as trying to make up time I had her in sport often overtaking and hauling that weight through the mountains.

Need to now get vbar covers, the eye brow thingies and then to some maintenance. Making a booking with ZF for the gearbox. Car is now on 98000km. Do an oil service even though I've only done 5500km since my previous service in May then downpipe, resonator delete and SW.

Again not much to report after my move to Cape Town. Between settling in and training the car has been neglected a bit. Changed the registration number last week Friday and gave her a proper wash after she sat parked for 12 days. Gearbox service is booked for this coming Friday.

I am surprised that you found a replacement tyre in Colesberg. Was it the same brand and spec as your other tyre? I am planning a road trip to WC so knowing tyre availablity en route will help.

Your car is looking really good.

Thank you for the kind words MrY.
Yes the exact same Bridgestone Potenza runflat in 225/40/19. Price wasn't too bad either for out in the karoo, R3800.

The very friendly uncle at Tiremart told me they stock for almost all cars since they on the N1.
