Guys mock the car as much as you want, this is not a street car it is a track car. The car is being prepared for a BMW racing league formula show me a car that does proper times without a wing, Sav, Marco Viera superstars etc. This is not an everyday car for me it is a track car hence the title "track M5"

Track is a hobby for me my M5 is a toy!

Good luck in the league man, once you're running at max rpm without any hiccups, you'll sure be making some wicked times

Plus the exhaust shooting fire is also a nice touch :)

I'm with Sanky on this one. plus, come on guys, how many people have an M5 just as a toy ? .. I dunno, the car looks pretty cool to me. lol.
It really irritates me how much the US boys are nay-saying this car tho, although its only about 50% of them..
E39er.. I think you should post some dyno sheets to give the USA boys some peace of mind ...

Don't get me wrong, the car looks good and has the power to boot and looks like no expense has been spared in the building of it. Its just that I think a car of this calibre shouldn't be spoiled by a cheap boot spoiler from autozone...To each their own I guess...

Dude.. On a track car - function over form FTW!
I'd love to see this thing on the track some time!

I think that spoiler from the M3 GTR woold look pretty sweet on it.

If I ever get a track car one of the first things I would do is fit a spoiler that looks like the one on the M3 GTR :)

So what the guys on M5board are saying is that it is impossible for the engine to make 600Hp NA.
Do you have any dyno proof of this claim?

Yeah thats like 153kw more than stock.
Dynos can always be "corrected" to show higher numbers, Sav is guilty of that, infact alot of tuners are guilty of that, makes them look good when the customer sees such high numbers.

What/who's dyno did it make 600hp? What was the wheel horsepower? What conversion factor did you use to get flywheel power at sea level?

If we take your 600hp (447kw) on the flywheel and minus 17% to get wheel power we get 498whp (371wkw), assuming the 600hp was a sea level figure we then minus another 18% for highveld altitude which is 408whp (304wkw).
So, if it makes 600hp on the flywheel @ sea level then that would equate to 408HP on the wheels @ reef level.
My dad's stock m5 made 200wkw (268whp) on RGM's dyno, yours makes 304wkw, thats 104wkw extra from a chip, exhaust, higher compression pistons and gasflowed heads...ie there is something you are not telling us or the 600hp claim is :bs:

That is why the M5 board is so sceptical to the 600hp normally aspirated claim.

This leads me to ask, why isn't there a standard concerning dyno's and all the related stuff such as correction factors, so that everyone's measurements are sort of the same?
(I mean this is the case with most (if not all) physical quantities that are measured)

No. And everyone is not the same... But yes, it should be standardized in my opinion.
