Oh, no... You're a lot more patient than I am :roflol:

The last guy that tried to 'rip me off' with a shoddy job ended up with zero cash, despite the material he used and labour.. I was so unhappy with the job, I was going to moer him with the steering wheel, if he so much as gave me any story.

https://www.bmwfanatics.co.za/showthread.php?tid=88074 - My wheel that was royally fcuked up, at least to me.

That steering wheel looks like it has knuckles.. LOL ( the joints ) :fencelook:

I too would not have used it.

I dont like fighting over money to be honest.
And yes, i tend to be a pushover at times but yeah..

Atleast the seats are useable.

@Gio , Thanks bud. Still long way to go

learnt that When this section is "COMPRESSED", then will cause this error.
Compared to OLD seats ones and i saw they not compressed. Need to install

Make sure that you have all the connectors underneath the seat plugged in correctly. It is also possible that the tensioner on the new seat is bad, just swop it for the one on the old seat.

Since i owned this car, the Key fob never worked, the rear Demisters also never worked and the Alarm never activated ( no flashing Clown nose on rear view mirror ).

not a GM5 module issue as the Doors lock with the Key and with the button..

my door lock broke last night... randomly just failed. from working flawlessly to just not wanting to unlock.
:fencelook:

Took out the hammer and Flat screw driver, And beat the crap out of the barrel.
Felt Awesome since i knew how to open it. Only to cause more issues for myself.

So i spin the nob on the actuator to unlock the car then turning it back to centre, not knowing i went more to the "LOCK" position than centre..

only noticed when all the windows started Rolling themselves down and the sunroof sliding into the roof.

i was too late. :blueCry:

the sunroof dragged the Sunshade with it and the handle was unreachable. trying to close the sunroof so that it drags it out, no go as its all jammed.. THEN IT STARTS TO RAIN!!!!!!! :blueCry::blueCry::blueCry::blueCry::blueCry:

Screwdriver, forced the sunshade back out, damaged the Sunroof cassette, Closed the sunroof and now the sunshade is jammed shut.

What a night ...

NOW, not sure but last chat with Diago for the Windshield Cowel, i believe prior to his move to ABM, they do not courier parts down to cape town so im left to assume ABM dont do that either so cannot make use of their services..

Contacted SMG Tygervally, Ordered me a New Antenna booster to fix the Keyfob issues. ( my research all points to this being the reason it does not work ), as i have checked for broken wires running to it.. 7 to 10 days waiting as part coming from Germany

And weekend, im now forced to remove the headliner to fix the sunroof cassette, remove the Sunroof glass to make sure the Sunshade is on/in its rails...

Will post up pics on progress

another question i have for guys using PA Soft, @Tinuva , maybe you can advise

not that it matters, but is there a way to change these items using PA Soft??

Would like to change Limo to Touring
and set the Touring's Vin

pasoft_2685485527.png

If it requires NCS Expert or the likes, then im going to leave it as is. LOL

PASoft can change the VIN and Mileage. Look at page 7 in http://www.aikawa-net.com/bmw_data/PASoftLCMCodingv1.1.pdf

To change the Limo to Touring you need to modify the VO string in both LCM and Cluster using NCSExpert.

@Blue Shirt , I tried that. Did not work

bare in mind, the 330i Sedan, prior to the Swop, the key fob worked 100% ok.

the tourings 325i stuff never worked before the swop or after... Coding the keys i done a million times and dont work..

hence the order of the Antenna ...
Paid thru my a$$ :blueCry:
But after Calling Shamiels BMW Spares and finding out they asking R1500 for the same part i decided to just Buy it new. Nutjobs those people..

" Its an uncommon car and not a part you find often "
Wouldnt budge on price even after i told them BMW sells new for R1500...

Remembered few months back when i called them, im sure they told me R750:eek:mgwaiting:

I remember blue shirt helped me with coding my gm module when I got a replacement. Also from sedan to touring. Had to check a few options to get everything working iirc. Tailgate etc. This was for an e39 which uses the earlier gm3 module.

Tiny update.

Just visited SMG tygervally for the parts i ordered

My Antenna Booster arrived from Germany sooner than expected 7 to 10 working days.
Hoping this fixes the issue where keyfob buttons dont work and the alarm does not activate

bmwag_3208197507.png

same time, My Driver side SPOT surround for the Mtech 2 bumper arrived

bmwag2_1655122752.png

And while i was there, picked up a New oil filter for planned oil change this weekend..

bmwag3_5887416250.png

After convincing myself that my Antenna Booster is Busted, Cause my Keyfob Does not work, I went ahead and replaced the Booster.

Removed this plastic cover ( must be done gently cause the Clips are very Fragile )

Remove these 4 bolts
capture3_795314723.png

Spoiler can now be lifted
capture4_6892651080.png

The part was replaced
capture5_9183528323.png

And the results are good and bad.

Good - it has a new Antenna booster
Bad - Keyfob still does not work ...:roflol:

tried Pairing the key to the car. Does not work.
Tried the spare keys. does not work.

So i could have spent that R1500 on a new barrel Key lock instead. LMAO

Looks like i need a pro to have a look at this instead..

I bought 2 new Keys from Allie Express. Will have them CUT and new batteries fitted and See if i can get this crap sorted.

Stupid question but have you done this?

Step 1
Get into your BMW, shut the door and put your key in the ignition. Turn the key between the on and off positions five times as quickly as you can.

Step 2
Push the "Unlock" button on your E46 key and hold it down while pushing the lock button three times. At this time your BMW's door locks will lock and unlock, which signals that you've successfully completed the programming process.

Finish programming your E46 key remote by turning your BMW on and off. Exit your vehicle and test the key.

Also ensure that battery in key is fine

@Kyle , yup. brand new batteries.
Also bare in mind, They worked 100% ok on the Donor 330i sedan before i Gutted it.

@ChrisBrand , Yup. thats what i meant when i said tried "pairing" the keys again.

I dont get it.

Locks and unlocks fine with key in barrel
Locks and Unlocks fine with button on Centre console

only stuff that dont work on the car is:

* Alarm does not activate
* Rear Demister does not work
* Keyfob buttons dont work

And after ALLOT of research, 99% pointed to the FZV Antenna booster :blueCry:

I did find this 1%er today
https://forum.e46fanatics.com/showthread.php?t=936483

Ai. maybe the order i done this in was wrong.

You gutted the key when you put in the M54B30 engine.

The EWS recognizes the key when starting the engine, so part of it works.
But the part that send the signals on keyfob button press is not working.

Those 2 parts are different circuits in the key.
The part that lets you start the engine is powered by a magnetic field in the ignition.
The part that lets you lock/unlock using keyfob buttons is powered by the battery, but the battery also gets recharged by the ignition magnetic field.

I suspect the part where the keyfob gets power from the battery is currently not working or the transmitter is not working or both.

@Tinuva , 3 Keys. bit more indepth info

All 3 worked fine on the 330i Sedan.

Only 1 Key was opened ( Chinese one that clips open and close ). so did not need to slice it open to replace the battery

1 is Original and 2 keys are the Chinese clip ones

Car starts fine with ALL 3 keys. And i individually used the keys 1 at a time to "Charge" the batteries in the 2 unused ones to pair. and that did not work

Also, I removed the ECU/EWS and ignition barrel and fitted to the touring. So in theory, It should have worked..

im starting to think i found the 1 issue i dont know how to fix.. :biglol:
