So Last night was quiet eventful and very rewarding ( duration of it was Frustrating. LOL )
Im happy to say, I fixed my Keyfob issue !!!!!!!
Here is the story as it unfolded:
I pulled off the spoiler etc and got the multi-meter ready.
Set to test for Volts
Tested the following Wires:
Violet Red - NO READING. Volts just jumped around haphazardly
White - NO READING. Volts just jumped around haphazardly
Blue Red - NO READING. Volts just jumped around haphazardly
Thinking it may be the meter, connected to the battery and Got a steady 12.64v reading.. So it works.
Switched to test continuity and the exposed wires at the top all beeped with success.
not being able to figure this out, i printed out some info from BimmerForumUK and 1 guy had a break in his wire but as he traced, he realized his break was under the roof liner so he had to remove his.
Out of frustration, i cut open the tube Right-rear next to the Glass lid hinge and to my horror, this is what i found..
ALL MY WIRES BROKEN!!!!
Whether someone replaced the tailgate and cut the wires or the Wires got ripped to bits when the boot was closed, i dont know...
Anyway, i was happy to see that it ripped in an Awkward place and NOT in a DIFFICULT place like under the roof lining.
So i went to the Parts car, Trimmed the same color/gauge wires from it and i proceeded to Extend them abit.
While adding wires, the car starts Beeping at me like CRAZY!!!
Beeeeeeep ... Beeeeeeep ... Beeeeeep ...
So i quickly disconnected the battery ( forgot to do this in the beginning )
Carried on extending the wires and connecting them to the Broken off section..
Multi-meter now gave readings:
Violet Red - about 12v
White - 11v with radio on
Blue Red - 5v
Connected everything up and tested the Keys... THEY STILL DONT WORK~!!!!!! :'(
Then remembered i did not connect the battery. LMAO!!!
Connected and this annoying Beeeeeeep was back...
After scratching my head i remembered reading fuse 49 and 2 others for the touring alarm/Central locking system.
Pulled Fuse 49 and the Beep stopped... FUSE BLEW!!!.
back to the donor car for a fuse and no more beep..
Tried pairing my Key, no response from the door locks.
Went and got the other 2 keys, tried to pair them, no response from the door locks.
Swearing and wanting to give up, I ripped all 3 keys open.
1 Original BMW key and 2 Chinese replacement keys
the 2 Chinese replacement keys have new Duracell Rechargeable batteries in which i replaced not too long ago while fault finding.
the Original key i carefully opened...
used meter:
* tested the 2 Duracell batteries, 3V strong.
* tested the original key battery which i opened and it was Dead as a doornail.
So i proceeded to remove the battery from the Original key...
Swapped the batteries between keys and they just wont Pair up... I now have given up..
but I then noticed, the battery in the original key was 2020 and the Duracell and replacements are 2025.
remembering that the 320i Donor keys worked 100% ok on there, i decided to carefully open it.
Removed the circuit board.
tested the battery and pushing out 3V strong...
Went and paired the keys and VIOLA!!!!! LOCKS CYCLED!!!! Now pressing the buttons locked/unlocked and activated the alarm.
danced around abit and stroking my ego and telling myself how awesome i am... LMAO
I got into the car and wanted to move it, motherF wouldn't start. :'( .
Would do nothing. No click, no nothing...
Tried the spare keys and cars starts...
Nwo my mind starts overthinking... Telling myself the following:
* i need the ring around the Keyhole for it to work
- Realizing its so generic and nothing special about it
* thinking i need the EWS from the 320i now
- Realizing that the EWS will need to be "Coded" to ecu again...
then i calmed down and realized, the Pairing is only for the locks. Not for starting the car.
So i went back to the boot area where all the Split open keys were in and picked up the 1 spare keys circuit board and i realized something important..
The 2 chinese keys "CHIP" were loosely glued on a slot on the key
Like these:
The original key has the chip ON THE BOARD!!!!
Like These:
So i opened my key i paired again.
now saw 1 Loose Chinese Chip and low and behold, the Original CHIP was still on the board for the 320i
remove the 4 claws holding it in place and Pulled it out.
THE CAR STARTED!!!!!!! THE LOCKS WORKED!!!!!!! THE ALARM ACTIVATED!!!!!! DEMISTERS WORKED!!!!!!
AND I NOW HAVE MY RED FLASHING LIGHT ON MY REAR VIEW MIRROR !!!!!!!!!!
So far, i feel this was the biggest accomplishment for me on this car. bigger than the motor swop. Bigger than the Rear ABS Sensor issues. Bigger than the Coding out of the 2 Xtra sedan bulbs on LCM...
Im convinced now, I can fix anything on this car..
With the right help, and Peoples previous experience, ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE!!!!!
Credits go to :

also, rather a very impulsive Purchase, I bought another "DONOR" Car :fencelook:.
I dont need anything for the touring BUT, Was cheap enough to buy to sell off the spares...
