Ya, MattQ replaced the solenoid in December of 2011. I bought the car in June of 2012. So, the new solenoid is just over 2 years old.
I honestly do not think it is the solenoid as it's done less than 20 000km on this car, but we can look into whether they did change it, but Goch and Cooper are a reliable workshop, I doubt they would say they changed a solenoid, charge R5500 and then not do it. That being said, the car isn't throwing any codes, but for some reason, the car has lost low down torque.
Beisan systems states that Vanos seal issues are Overall loss of torque and power, particularly in the lower RPM range, < 3k. Bogging then surging at 3k RPM. Uneven power distribution and RPM transition. Engine hesitations in the lower RPM range,
This is the exact problem I am having, but the weird thing is, I never had this issue before. I did at one stage have a loss of power at Top end due to exhaust cam being over retarded by Gtech. Peter fixed this issue for me last year, but now I am having the Vanos seals problem, and we just did Vanos seals.
I'm stumped. Possibility of Beisan sending defect seals or wrong seals for this Vanos?
