@Moranor, not really, just a couple of pics, we're all waiting in anticipation for more details / pics.

Thanks for all the compliments, more updates to follow shortly.

Ok today was an exciting day. What a pleasure to do business with foreign counterparts. My first lot of bits arrived this afternoon:

New OPC fuel rail, and 470cc injectors:

Fitting kit for the new snail:

And lastly, 1x brand new OPC / VXR Tebbo:

Excited :joy:, but broke-ass :thumbdo:

So this will sit on the shelf for a while, until my other bits arrive which I ordered from the states - that should arrive here in the next week or so.

That's all for now

@Moranor: there is potentially lots of power available with the new turbo, but I don't want to risk destroying my internals. I know there are a couple of coupe's running around with this conversion, and they make 180-190wkW. Torque should be about 400Nm on the wheels.

We'll wait and see... hehe.

400Nm and 180-190wkW will hand you some decent torque-steer.

Jip, I could have gotten things locally, but it would have worked out about 50% more expensive.

The turbo itself wasn't that much cheaper, but all the other bits I saved quite a bit on.

Things have been so busy at work, haven’t had time to do any updates.

Last week my second box of toys arrived from the states :joy:

Autometer Electric fuel pressure gauge:

Autometer Analogue Clock:

I have been meaning to get the fuel pressure gauge for a while, as I think it’s an important aspect to monitor, especially on a turbo car, and also considering I’ll be making more changes to the current fuel supply setup (with the bigger injectors, new fuel rail etc). Then I decided to get the clock – to fill the hole which I had left for the EGT gauge. (I will not be fitting this gauge while I still use a standard turbo and manifold).

I spent just about a whole day running around getting t-pieces for the fuel line, and sorting out the wiring for the gauges. While I was at it, I drilled additional holes through the firewall, fitted them with grommets and tidied up all the wiring under the bonnet.

This is what I had to contend with inside the cabin:

Gauges installed and all working 100%:

I’ve left the boost gauge angled, so that I can easily see the boost pressure when I drive, if I were to mount it up straight, the bezel of the gauge obscures the indicators. I also haven’t finally fitted my trim panel, as there are a couple of adjustments which still need to be made.

Then here’s a pic of the engine bay. I tidied up the wiring and vacuum hoses a bit for the various gauges. You’ll also see my oil catch tank mounted (I don’t think I’d uploaded a pic of this before). Plus it helps that I gave it a good clean:

Then I thought I’d just add in that I took the Ute to ODI Raceway last Sunday for my first official event. It was a very hot day, so all the cars were suffering from heat soak, along with their drivers, hehe.
My 1km runs were as follows:
Run1: 27.4sec @197km/h (My mate recorded a vid: Ute 1km sprint)
Run2: 197km/h
Run3: 199km/h
Run4: no speed
Run5: 201km/h

At about 190km/h, my tonneau cover starts flapping violently in protest. The sections just behind the B-pillars. Next time, I'll have to make a plan with some duct tape or something.

Then in the heat of the day, the 1/4mile drags started:

Run1: 15.3sec (vs C63 AMG, lol - he cleaned up by about 6 car lengths, 1st and 2nd I kept him honest, after that he hit warp mode)

Run2: 15.5sec (vs MPS, guy bogged on pull-off, so I pulled about 4 car lengths, held that to the line)

Run3: 15.5sec (vs same MPS, this time I bogged, and he pulled 3 car lengths, held that to the line)

Run4: 15.4sec (vs N/A civic, he pulled me off the line, then fluffed a change from 2nd to 3rd, so I pulled dead even, ran like that to the traps, and he edged me about a car length at the end)

Run5: 15.26sec (solo run, everyone else was chicken, lol. this was by best time)

Run6: 15.3sec (vs "baby Camry" Corrola twincam turbo, this was the most exciting race for me, pulled half a car length on pull off and we were neck-in-neck all the way, I crossed the traps first by a bonnet length, but his time was 0.1sec faster than me).

That’s all for now.
