I need to own up..............as most of you know I am an ardent gym bunny so I took Rick's car to the gym so that I could style a bit........

Here's an update for all a y'all.

After being slightly rear ended and stripping the car for the panel beaters there was just more and more rust. So in the spirit of 'Do it right once' Peter ripped off a chunk of my rear left fender made entirely of filler. A donor panel was sourced and every stinking bit of rust has been welded and the rear fender repaired. Soon the reassembly will start with some upgrades; obviously. Bodywork MUST be perfect yeah?

That there rear fender was cut out completely from the B pillar all the way to the rear of the car and replaced with a new one.

I for one say well done!

Painful but well worth the effort... you would swear there was a lot of rain in the UK... all that rust:rollsmile:
Just being a smartass... good luck with the restoration.
Cheers

Thanks guys. It's been a very long and expensive road thus far. This is the 3rd time I'm doing the body work and last too hopefully!

Just promise it never sees the seaside again! Nice update.

Only for long weekends! The main issue is salty UK roads. The entire underside of the car has almost been replaced now, just the rear subframe and attachments to do.

Yeah its sad how quickly cars rot away in the UK...Insurance is too costly to have a winter beater so they drive their summer cars all year long...:(

I remember being on holiday in PE a few years ago and I saw a navy blue 635csi. it had been kitted out with Hartge bits and pieces. I just stood staring and my brother in law looks at me and says, it looks nice.. I turned to him flicked him behind the ear and said, your laaities school teacher is nice, this is a thing of beauty.. :hammerhead:
