Hi fellow BMW fanatics.
I'm happy to share a bit of VAG beauty with you guys. I alluded to the fact that I bought something new in my 530d for sale thread and had the blessing of taking delivery over the weekend in JHB.
Long story short, I turned 30 in April and felt I owed myself a reward. I've been contemplating the "Toy" thing for a few years and finally decided it's time to pull the trigger.
Some background on my choice and why I chose the car I did. Below is a breakdown of my options:
After a lot of deliberation and viewing/test drives, I introduce you guys to my new "toy":
2023 Audi TT RS Coupe
There are a couple of reasons I chose the Audi, and the inner BMW fanboy had a lot of conflict with this choice, but ultimately it made the most sense among the options I had. The values on these seem to be slowly creeping up; the extended plan goes to 2029, with the option to extend to 2033, and it definitely feels more like a "sports car occasion" than the rest, with the baby R8 vibe.
Info on the car:
*2023 model with 28800 km on the odo
*Nardo grey with black interior and RS styling package inside (red accents and stitching)
*Carbon interior package
*Black styling package
*RS exhaust
*Magnetic ride
*Bang & Olufsen
*Top speed increased to 280km/h
I looked at a couple advertised on AutoTrader in the past two months and viewed a few, and this one ticked all the right boxes for me. It had a clean history with one previous owner, no paintwork, a clean AutoCheck, and frontal PPF from new, which was a nice touch for me. The spec also caught my attention.
First on the list was to send the car to a detailer. From referrals in Durban, I was advised to give Autoworkz in Kyalami a shot. The dealer was kind enough to send the car to the detailer for me, and the following was completed:

I can genuinely recommend the team at Autoworkz, and their facility is out of this world!!
I drove the car back to KZN yesterday, and I have to admit, the magnetic ride is amazing. Comfortable as can be and very compliant on the open road. I was pleasantly surprised with the fuel consumption, and this was with a bit of spirited driving.
On the way back, one of the number plate lights failed, and I got an error on the dash. The vehicle is booked in on Thursday at Audi Umhlanga to have this replaced. I guess this is where my journey with Audi will start, and I'll experience their customer service first-hand.
For now, I don't have many plans. I want to do PPF on the remainder of the vehicle for my own peace of mind, and I have a genuine itch for springs and spacers. I've already got quotes, but I think I should enjoy the car as it is and consider it down the line. Most people have the itch for a downpipe, intake, tune, etc. I've got the itch to get it on track and test the capabilities. And did I mention my wife will have this opportunity as well? The main reason for the purchase was to have some fun together and perhaps meet some fellow petrolheads in the car community.

This was high on my list; the B58 with ZF8 is a stunning win. But I feel the car needs a lot of mods to make it stand out. There also weren't many clean examples available online that grabbed my attention. My wife will be driving the car now and then, and a manual wasn't an option for me. - BMW M2 Comp F87
This was another compelling option, but for some reason I fell out of love with the S55 + DCT. I also feel my final choice is more of a "Sports car" - BMW M4 Comp F82
Same reasoning as the M2 Comp, and I felt the car was a bit too big to be a "weekend warrior." - BMW M2 G87
I've spent a lot of time in these cars, and I absolutely adore the G-Series M2. It's a stunning package, and F-series owners will always tell you their F-series car is better, but honestly, they are too scared to admit the truth. The G87 M2 is, IMHO, one of the best all-round packages on sale today. The sales figures prove this. But it's a big but..... Depreciation. The market is flooded with G87S, and I don't see their values stabilizing or heading upwards in the near future.

- Full decontamination
- Revival of the old PPF
- PPF on headlights and mirror caps was replaced
- PPF was added to door edges
- Full paint correction on the rest of the car
- Full interior clean
- Full ceramic coating treatment. Rims, Calipers, interior, PPF, rest of the body, and all windows.
