Well, my 330d swallowed one swirl flap.

Well, even without the epoxy it was very tight. If they do come out, wich I doubt, they can not go to the inside of the engine again. I am sure it will make some sort of noise when it is open with the engine runing!

thats why i said its fine for this  just pointing out that epoxy is not the best glue to use under the conditions incase you ever need to glue something else...

Thanks Moranor for clearing that, now I am just waiting for Monday. The oke who is transporting my car to Clutchy can help me on Monday. So hopefully it will go faster from then! I hope the damage is not to much that I need to get another engine.

I would love to have the diesel power with the v8 sound track.
Might be a cheaper option but it is just wrong. Anyhow, I am sure a few okes on our site might come and take me out if I fit the V8!!

should work, but most epoxy tends to let go when you heat it... super glue is more suited for something like this...

+1 Moranor KNOWS what can or can't last under a fire :mmm:

Hi Barkie and Co !

ok, head is halfway off this morning, I will have it off justnow and then we can do a damage assesment ..

If it is ok with Barkie I can post some pictures of the damage here ? .. We take pictures of everything here, just for our records ..

Everything looks ok so far :) all the diesel injectors came off easily .. they sometimes get stuck and break the valve cover when you take them out.

ok, progress report abit later ! enjoy guys.

It's all OK with me Clutchy. As I am a bit far away and having a one man business does not help. The pics will help a lot with me sitting this side. Thanks again for helping me with this.:ty:

Thanks MiniMike

Ok, here are some pics of the damage ..

Both the rear cylinders were wet when I took the head off .. you can basically see they wern't combusting while the other cylinders had a nice dull black look ..

The screws made some nasty damage on the piston tops and the cylinder head .. although I have seen worse, this is not too good at all.

In the third picture you will see where I marked in red circles, the screw hit on the sides of the piston and cylinder ..

I am just waiting for our engineer to come out and look at the damage .. one of the valves look like it is not seating properly but I want them to check it to make sure ..

Also, I did not find any screws in the cylinders so that means the screws have gone through the turbo :/ ! so turbo will have to be stripped and checked also.

Barkie, I will give you a call shortly to discuss.
