Nice, always good to see shiny and new engine components, but hopefully they don't have to be seen again for a long time to come :=):

That honing on the cylinder walls looks really nice.

@ Clutchy, I hope you will post an image or more of the complete engine before you install it. Once it's in there with the cover on, you just do not see it anymore!

@ Rick540, went back and have a look again, it is a bit bigger than normal! Wow! So I can up from a MILD map to the WILD one now!
I am still not very sure what is the best way to run in this engine after the rebuilt!

Thanks for the info, anyone able to point me to a tech shop in pta/ jhb for a re-map? (personal satisfaction/ positive outcome feedback will be appreciated)

Hi, Try Celtic tuning (Martin) he did my E91 320D and he comes to your place if you want. I can say this thing is quick and joy to ride. I want to decat and do the air filter next.

Speak to Clutchy this morning. The bottom end is done and he is on his way to fit the head. Think we will get some more images shortly.

Seems to me that Clutchy will be starting up the 330 today and I might be getting it back this weekend. Two months without my baby now!! Will have to stretch her legs a bit!

Can't wait, just speak to Cluthcy now and he will most likely deliver the car himself to Fort Beaufort. He just want to test drive the car to make sure all is well.

WOW bro.

sorry to hear bout your wheels.

Glad that its getting fixed by someone with a passion for BMW's, and being a forum member.

run her in for a while, then back to Excede. E90's better watch out.

when you do get around to doing the mapping, please let us know the power at stock (cos the car is now not really stock anymore, with the bigger sizes), and then the mapped power.

Just btw, the car is running very nicely ! .. primed it for 60 seconds, and it took only about 15 seconds to start up .. beauty is it ran really smooth right from the first burn ... this was at about 8pm this evening .. I was working late so I decided to put the last bits of the car together ..

ok, here are some pics of what happened while putting the engine together ..

Thanks Clutchy, most of us do not have an idea of how many work goes into something like this. Also a big thanks for sharing the images with us and for all this hi-tech work you guy's are doing. Hope all goes well and that I get my baby back today. Think I will have to visit my mom in P.E. on Sunday morning just to loosen her up some more as I do not think short trips will be ideal in this early stages.
