Guys are wiping out in M3s lately. As a result, finding M3 parts has become pretty easy. Sad but true hey.

Its been a difficult search...there were leads, but most of the engine the guys from martins motorsport could find were no good...finally they have found enough bits and pieces to build me a new engine with some parts coming (pistons and rods etc) from Bavaria....im now going to get an engine with 330kw of power, improved torque and a superior grunt...cant wait, I'm getting the car in a week or two...

Lol..i knew the question about "set back" was going to come. I hope my wife does not read this because I will be a dead man...well fellows, it is costing me 162k...so if any of you are looking for a car washer, please consider this broke fellow.

Apparently the car will be faster than the new M4...whether that's true or not remains to be seen...what was the sprint of the e92 m3 gts? Because I am told I am getting an equivalent [FACE SAVOURING DELICIOUS FOOD].

Yep...bearing rod failure caused by the engine oil....guys apparently bmw is now moving from castrol to shell oil for M cars,.....there is a serious problem with castrol on aging M cars.... but for fear of being sued, bmw wont even make a public announcement to their fanatics for fear of being sued....

At least my build was R64k cheaper. Speaking about wives finding out, I need a second safe for those receipts.

Finally got back my pride and joy yesterday after 3months. She growls like a hungry lion with 330kw under the hood. Warned though not to unleash the power yet, until I have done the running in mileage of 2k. Feels like I am alive again [FACE SAVOURING DELICIOUS FOOD].

Nice to hear the car is back on the road again bud.

Out of interest, were all OEM Spec parts used or upgraded bits to get you up to the 330kw? Cos the GTS is a 4.4L and not a 4.0 like our normal M3s.

Apologies if I missed this bit of info in the rest of the thread.

Cheers

Good news this... Really happy for you. Look forward to a short review on the performance once broken in.

Many happy miles man.

Thanks fellows...the engine is based on the gts specs, including torque, with modifications to the suspension and exhaust system.
