My brother and I went to high school with their two sons. Martin's Motorsport have been around since the early '90's or maybe longer. IIRC they were the first workshop in SA to do a M60 swap into a 3.0lt M3 that had blown it's motor. They are/were next to the old Top Star drive-in by Selby, JHB.

Given the numberplate you recently took ownership?

Sorry for your loss, but a 2nd hand motor is gonna set you back 100K excluding instalation and preventative work at the least unless you rob someone.

If your bores are stuffed or the block as a hole in it there is not much that can be done other than either scrapping it for parts of dropping a 120-150k for a motor plus installation. Not to mention the possibly negative effect of having a car with mismatched numbers when it comes time to sell.

Saw one a few weeks back at MD House, try and speak to Mike, not Mark ;)

Ok I might have a lead on another motor for around R85k, I'll know tomorrow

Worse, I have never missed a service. My last service was in October last year at bmw zambezi. Martins motorsport are a tuning and bmw specialist company in Selby...they have a website if you google.

There maybe a few components you can still use but the mangled bottom end will be a giant paper weight.

^ R95k for S65. Cheapest quote so far, also they must have some guarantee attached given the price. Gumtree voetstoets sales are too much of a gamble.

Crash Nemesis has had good dealings with them.

This sucks big time. Sorry about your ordeal dude, and hope you sorted soon with that V8 purring again.

Came across this today from VAC Motorsport.
