What would be the easiest way to remove the pre cat oxygen sensors on a E90 320i 2011. Without the use of any special tools?

I have done it before from the top (cold engine) but i found it to be easier from the bottom. May i ask why you want to remove ?

i would say bottom, might have to buy a cheap spanner and mod the shape or so. but you should be able to get in with standard tools.... little move little move.

I'm getting errors on rheingold for both pre cat sensors. My car has been de catted. I just want to inspect the sensors before replacing. Maybe the wires got hurt during the decat process? Any suggestions.

swop the wires around. I did a decat on my previous bmw and the guys at the shop switched them around. Also get cat foolers.

I don't know where exactly to access the wires and plus. I can't find a decent DIY on this.

Have a look on here, should good you a good idea... I was thinking about this last night and my previous bm did exactly the same. I took it to tunetech and they just swopped the sensor cables and all was fine. These exhaust guys just plug stuff in where ever they want. As i mentioned in a previous post, do yourself a favor and go to TNT and get cat foolers.

I would suggest you follow the cables from the sensor and then just swop the connections. but yes if you undo the belly pad you will be able to reach. I installed my cat foolers from below

Steps to help.

1. Don't try this after work
2. Start on a Saturday morning. Have a good breakfast
3. drive your car onto ramps
4. Relax and have a beer
5. Undo belly pan
6. follow o2 sensor cables and swop them around
7. have another beer and start at your beautiful driving machine
8. start the car and check for change.

LOL steps above worked for me
