Hi All
Want to hear your advice on the ffg:
I am purely looking for a more aggressive tone / bangs / pops / gurgles on my X6 - i dont need to tune or performance enhance the vehicle. It has 3 years left on its motorplan with 19000 kms on it. I dont want to void the motorplan and from some of the research iv done is to use a Valve controller (Plug and play) to enhance the sounds without interfering in any enhancements - and obv to remove before taking the car to the dealership for its routine maintenance schedule.

What are your thoughts and advice around this?
Thanks
Shaun

Don't touch the car bud. They are looking for every possible reason to void motorplan these days.

What he said. As tempting as it is, anything that requires some sort of physical connection to the car will void your MP. They are clamping down heavily on this, and if you refer to your MP contract you'll see how many things are excluded, in some cases even subtle aesthetic mods are excluded.

beyond the motorplan issues.

You want to do a pops-and-bangs sound tune on your *checks notes* family SUV.

A Valve controller won’t give you anything more than what you’ve already experience when the car is on full WOT….it might make it louder during normal driving if the valves are forced open, but not necessarily any more pops and bang etc…

You could do downpipes which will absolutely make it sound more aggressive and have them put the OEM ones back on for services etc. Fairly easy to put on and take off… but any modification carries the risk of being spotted so really depends on your appetite for risk….but I’m also the wrong person to ask lol!

True the valve controller just keeps the valves at 100 percent (open) full tilt. Ditch the stock exhaust and get downpipes too, BMW has to many restrictions on their current stock exhaust systems due to emission regulations. Remember the pops and bangs is essentially playing with fueling this can be done if you have a tune for your case and Motor plan best option is remain cautious.

On a side note when I had my m340i with My performance exhaust that would pop and bang bang all day after a software update from BMW best stock car exhaust note ever

Get yourself an 11Mode Exhaust Valve controller. That's the best mod you can do to get more sound out your exhaust without mods. I have it on my G82 M4. It opens the valves 100% as opposed to the 70% or so when in Sport Mode. You can switch back to factory control through the remote. You will hear a difference in your exhaust, not HUGE but worth it. Takes LITERALLY 1 min to install or remove.
