Thermostat housing...AGAIN...mxm

Wsup,

Yesterday the stealers FINALLY supplied me with the correct thermostat AND viscous fan, aircon belt, and passenger side lower control-arm. Fit everything last night, but as my mech refilled with coolant we noticed some leakage...:argh:

He disconnected the hoses again and pulled of the thermostat housing and on close inspection theres a hairline crack from where the bolts screw in. This is a NEW OEM housing that I fit I mid July?? How can this be? Is not possible to crack this housing by over-tightening the bolts when putting it back? The car had absolutely no leakage what so ever before we started the job...I find it hard to believe that the part is defective...

Shouldnt buy the OEM one. Its crap. Rather get an aluminium on, goldwagen sometimes has. turnermotorsport always has.

It works out to around R370 with shipping included.

I think I might have to replace mine too... I'm loosing water somewhere but haven't had the chance to have a look where...

Its because the plastic is 1. Obviously cheaper and easier to manufacture and 2. I doubt they thought people will be holding on to the cars as long as we do.

Yeah, but buying a new generation BMW is soooo expensive these days. I drove a 550i the other day...raise:!!!! But there's no way for me to own this vehicle (or anything like it) legally :rollsmile: So for now we try to double/triple our cars' life-cycles :fencelook:
