Road Trip - Top Gear festival 14-16 June GP to KZN

Mo I'm happy with that arrangement. We can leave midrand caltex at 5am and meet up with the Jozi boys at 05:30 and leave right away.
If everyone is happy with this we can make it set! I do think it will take us more than 30mins to drive from the Caltex to the alberton petroport though... Like 40-45 maybe? Either way we can leave pretty soon after then as the Vdub boys will surely start pulling in by then, if not by mass already.

Ok guys so the only other thing left is accomodation for some of us. I have a place to stay in Elysium but it would be so much more fun if we could get a group deal of sorts to stay together during this time.
I might have a plan, but if anyone has any contacts/ideas feel free to share.

If you guys are keen I will meet you at mooi river and we can take an alternative route though the country side some very nice roads there that will break the highway monotony...

Gents, for those that are looking for accommodation that isn't going to break the bank or disappoint I can suggest the ffg, Link
It's a spacious self catering multi story house that has been converted into self catering units with different sizes to cater groups of varying sizes, there is plenty parking available with a 24hr armed guard on site and is 5-7min from the airport, 5min to umdloti beach, 8-10 mins to gateway shopping centre in umhlanga and all are reachable via the M4 highway or the N2 freeway. Please understand that While it isn't the Beverly Hills hotel it is clean and comfortable has the most hospitable host you will ever meet. :thumbs:

Guys - I think we'll give everyone a few days to confirm accommodation first. Then, when you're confirmed that you're going, we can discuss exact meet-up times.
Tentatively for now, we'll be meeting at Caltex (New Road) at 5AM for the PTA/Midrand guys. Then we'll meet at the Engen in Edenvale (before Modderfontein) for the JHB guys at 5:30AM.
This is to avoid getting mixed up with the VW run, which is going to be quite busy.
So first, confirm all your accommodation and only the guys that are going will discuss the travel :thumbs:

Who needs a lift down to Durban and back for the weekend of 14th June (and Dubrun) and is willing to split costs?
I will be heading to the Umdloti area (north coast) but am willing to drop-off anywhere in the vicinity.
I will be leaving the Total Petroport just outside of Alberton on the N3 south at around 06h00. Meeting the Dubrunners there at 05h00. And will be travelling back on Tuesday 18th June, leaving Durban at around 12h00.
