the last panels were tended to last night
Rear bumper and side skirts

IMG_20210331_175648.jpg

today in my lunch break, i installed the rear bumper and skirts IMG_20210401_154121.jpgIMG_20210401_154135.jpgIMG_20210401_154150.jpgto the car.
yes i cause some k*k on the rear left quarter just below the tail light cause that stupid towbar was causing the rear bumper to not slide into place.
this is why 2 people is needed :'(

Where did you source the black trim from? I'm looking for that + front and rear MSport bumper set.

hi

This was from a Sedan i broke up for parts.
This "kit/Set" i had for a very very long time.

infact, noone was interested in purchasing it. lol
so i installed the mirrors and 2 from Weather strips on my touring. The rest of the touring chrome i sprayed with etching primer, then Glossed it, then clear. ( must still install on the car )

The rest of the stuff from the set i could not use, i gifted to a good friend of mine.
Not sure what he done with it as he sold his E46

UPDATE:

So i been having issues finding someone to come to my home and Flat and Polish my car for me. :|
I have everything the person needs here. They just need to come, not bring anything, And do it.
I cannot believe there are so much un-reliable people in this world. Or they just plain Lazy.
They Agree on a date then cancel saying they cannot make it for 1 or other reason

I even offered to fetch them and drop them home. But they choose not to. LOL

So that on a back burner, the PING on my engine Got so bad that it was time to figure this out.
No error codes nothing. And it only Pings when the car is at operating Temperature

When I started stripping, I found this :|

Replaced the boot and went for test drive, And the ping was still there but not as bad.

So smoke tested the car with a vape and no more Vac Leaks.
Since i had the Plastic water hoses under intake to install, I bought new Knock Sensor at the dealer

Removed and installed all the items.
I fitted a new Behr thermostat too and new water pump as well.
IMG-20210424-WA0013.jpeg

After the test drive, THE PING IS GONE
Third day today driving and thankfully still no ping.

while the boot rip was taking in unmetered air, it probably Added to the Ping that was already there.
I think the main issue was the knock sensor.
What i dont understand is why no error codes if it was faulty??

Eitherway, im just happy its Sorted!!!!

In the meantime, I assembled all my Beadings etc
honestly, my car looked allot worse so I am happy to drive around with a car thats not flat and polished until i find someone who wants to earn some cash to do it for me. LOL

Rear wheels are off, Im in the process of reconditioning them. ( Wife got a hold of 1 of the rims proper. LMAO )
Once done, will do the fronts

Also, have new set of kidneys and Front headlight lenses that im waiting on. Will install once recieved
Will make a trip to SMG Tygervally in this week to get new front and rear Badges.

Final Product

IMG_20210512_194105.jpgIMG_20210512_194100.jpgIMG_20210512_194055.jpg

IMG_20210512_194211.jpgIMG_20210512_194206.jpg

There are some minor imperfections in the prep work.
Especially in the tight spots

but the Clears coverage coat was nice and thick so will sand them down 2000grit wet then will Put another 2 to 3 thin coats base to cover the imperfections and then finish in clear again

Thanks for looking/Following this build

You got skills bud. If you want the m-sport badges for the rims let me know.

You just sort out courier fees and I’ll send your way. (One hand washes the other)
