Rear Wheels are back on the car.
Did not remove the fronts yet

Need to get more Clear, Hardner and 2k thinners.
Thats a job for this weekend

im also going to try and flat/Polish a fender myself Since noone wants to Come out and Do it for me.

And i do not want to leave my car at their Premises to do. LMAO!

you then decide to take the risk and DIY.

i figured worse thing that can happen is i mess it up

i used only Kapci products and all my materials came to about R4000.

so was worth the risk trying to do it myself

100l 3hp Compressor Was around 10k new ( was not specifically bought for the Spray job but was bought to use Impact tools )

Spray guns, Orbital Air sander and Airlines were free ( Borrowed. lol )
These are the guns used:

Small gun was used to primer the spots where dents were removed.


Big gun was used to put on Base coat and Clear coat



All of them together

Febi Water bottle bought at GW Feb 2019 decided to Die.


It was affordable at R850 back then compared to the R2000 BMW wanted for a genuine one.
Also, its the first time I Ever experienced an issue with the Febi expansion Tanks.

Called GW and the price on their Febi was now R1070. i was not prepared to Pay 1k for an aftermarket part so i opted to call BMW to see if they had stock. Was preparing myself to pay the R2000 but for piece of mind.

Auric Auto in Claremont had 3 and BMW in Cape Town City Centre had 1.
I went to Auric and to my surprise, they had it on special!!!!!!!
Paid R1200 for the Expansion tank (Vat Included)

So I walked away with 2. LMAO! Would have been 3 if they 3rd one was not broken.

Visited 2 Fellow fanatics in this past 2 weeks Acquiring some Lighting pieces

1.
Some Crystal taillights for the touring which is impossible to find Locally
This was Specially ordered for me without me even asking for it 😭
He felt the touring would look better with crystals all round and ordered for me.


Then some front Lens as mine was just too far gone. (im guilty of assisting it in that direction too)

2.
Took a lovely drive out to another member and got these genuine Front Lens covers.
100million times better condition than mine!!! just a bit dusty from storage
Since i do not have the time right now to tend to these, A friend of mine is going to sand, polish and Clear coat these for me today


Appreciate both these guys for accommodating me after hours to collect these.

Do you know where your friend sourced the crystal lights? I could do with a a set for my mine. I want the front corners, fenders and tail lights.

Those specific ones are from ebay and the ad said its oem.
When I received them, I noticed the TYC branding. They however look as OEM as you can get. After looking further into TYC I noticed they have all the lighting that looks all OEM with all the different options available from BMW. In fact, you can get some parts separate when BMW won't sell it like that. If you interested, this is what you want: left right

Looks OEM to be honest. Identical to the original one
