Project E46 330i Touring

Great Project!!

We also have done something similar with the BMW Car Club Track Taxi. We bought a E46 325i Touring. Stripped it out did all the necessary changes as per our rules and regs, added a roll cage and other necessary parts for a race car. But we kept the front and rear passenger seats. It even has an original CSL steering wheel donated to us from someone who replaced their CSL wheel
So the car doubled up as a race car for our race series and a Track Taxi for our track day taking passengers.
The car is so reliable one track day at Phakisa we cover around 350km track KMs with no issues, only complaint was it’s power and it would often finish last in a race! Depending on the driver!! But in Feb we upgraded it to a 330i as well.
Unfortunately I haven’t driven it yet, neither has it been raced because of the Lockdown. Can’t wait to try it out

Ok so its been too long since i updated this thread
Since lockdown has me working from home, I seemed to have been more busy than ever and had little to no time to work on this project

But, i finally started.

started sorting out the dents in preparation to have the car wrapped ( There is a reason im not spraying the car yet.  :fencelook: but more on that when the time comes )

Color choice for the wrap will be Daytona Violet

Started with the largest dent Stripped the inside to push the dent out as much as i could.

been too long since i posted. so its time for an update..
Plans on the car changed too :(

Not being able to find an E46 m3 donor car within my budget was the biggest blow to my plans and im not prepared to Pay R40 000 just for the parts i need, engine not included in that price ofcourse, to do the E46 M3 body conversion.

Second blow, Daytona Violet paint Cost:
* R5000 just for paint ( good quality paint )
* R3000 Just for paint ( Cheap Quality paint )

So i opted to keep it silver. Added small amount of blue flake to it to give the colour a little change.
Also switched to Mtech 2 front bumper

On with the pics:

They already prepped to receive 1k primer
once done, then paint and clear

Also plan on spraying all the chrome in Gloss black
And all the black side and bumper beading in Satin black

Polish Light lenses all round then final assembly.
