Agreed. That was a broad statement. I was referring to tri -metal bearings.
I am not a bearing expert and stand to be corrected.

The quality of the materials
The quality of the foundry work
The quality and accuracy of the shell before being pushed out to market.

The base of the bearing can contain as little as 2 alloys or as many as 10.
That is typically what is known as proprietary knowledge however the price of a bearing will give you a clue as to how good its base is.

Confirmed big end bearing knock. Luckily no damage to the crankshaft. Ordered a set of bearings, car should be back on the road by the weekend.
