Stripping the dash with the ignition on.....surely not the best idea....

Anyway, nice to see someone show some passion to get a car repaired rather than just written off because of airbag deployment - it is quite sad that it is so expensive to replace them.
Many a car has been written off due to relatively basic accident damage because of the airbags.

My car does not have keyless start. There is no key even in the ignition... So I don't know where you from pics that the ignition is on? The little car in the heads up display comes on with the doors just being open. If you just simply open and close the doors, this little car comes up in the display in the cluster. As soon as the cluster was to be removed, the battery was disconnected. That's why in the last pics you can see a lead light on the floor.

But thanks for the passion remark. By paying in for some of the parts like the wheels and the suspension myself, I managed to salvage the car as the insurance is only covering the remaining interior and exterior parts. Wasn't going to let them write her off. Too much has been put into her.

Well, the sensitively scary part is almost done. Everything is connected and comes on after turning on the ignition.

I should have been clearer and said "stripping the car with the battery connected"

So when are you getting the car back?
You must be very excited to drive it again :=):

Remaining parts to closed up is driver lower section and lower centre console. Front seat belts are to be replaced followed by the assembly of the nose (windscreen, bonnet, headlights and front bumper) and then the car should be done.

Right hand side headlamp washer cover arrived today to be painted and just clipped on. New passenger side bumper clip was ordered as well. The left side is popping out by the bumper section next to headlight. Seems to be an issue on the Mk6s especially if the bumper is taken off too many times. I think the left side may have gotten hurt from the impact on the right too. But once the part arrives, car should be completed

Thanks guys!! Lol at some of the comments.

Left side bumper slide clips are damaged so bumper keeps making a small mouth just under the left headlight.

Accident damage was on the right. But, the left side's clips must have taken damage from the accident and was overlooked when repairing. Part has been ordered and will be here Monday. So no boosting for me yet. Was so looking forward to getting her for the weekend...

One of those things I guess...

In the end, the wait will be well worth it. Hang in there.
