My first ever accident :( [Update Post #23]

Hi Guys

Just came from my first ever accident.

Driving up Durban road in the right hand lane and some guy decides to take the turn at an intersection from the middle (straight only lane) and turns into my car.

I am so pissed off, the guy naturally has no insurance.

Damage looks to be cosmetic only to the left rear door and quarter panel. Luckily it was low speed, although the first thing the other guys wife does is to accuse me of speeding (is 50km/h in a 60 zone speeding???).

question to her if she accuses you is... listen lady are you aware you stupid twit of a husband wants to turn from a straight line only ?
I mean please... even if you were doing 10km/h faster than what you should've you still need to be bloody awake enough to be in the right lane and not turn from a no turn lane...

I HATE people like that...

Me and my passengers are ok and so is the other party.

Luckily its up to my insurance to fight him so I can hopefully get my car sorted out soon (Cant really drive it as my wheel is now getting thrashed by the arch)

Well I doubt he could see out his blind spot with all the stuff piled in the back so he must have looked and turned when he thought it was fine.

Ag no man! I have absolutely no time for people that first of all don't have insurance and second of all don't make sure that their young kids are properly strapped in.

Was driving along Durban Road this afternoon as well, people were as usual driving like idiots, in particular trucks! Had one that was literally cutting in and out of traffic and at higher than flow of traffic speed - nasty accident waiting to happen. I was driving the bakkie and at one point we were next to each other - felt that the speed and situation was a recipe for disaster, so slagged off to create a gap between us.

Yea me too.

Just sucks that no one is open over the weekend and I cant drive the car to get it assessed even if there were places open.

So I have to wait until Monday to have the insurance company send someone out which means I cant go to varsity until the car is fixed. :cursin:

As far as I know, no - unless the Law has changed (and should) in this regard. Then you get the uninsured, unlicensed, unroadworthy taxi driven by an unlicensed driver on our roads!!!

Bad news hope you are fixed up soon. Check his mags , bonnet protector , headlights look non standard - he has spent cash on his car .Im waiting from 01 March for insured guy that turned in front of me-R20k down the drain !
