Thanks guys, appreciate! She hit 80k kms last week.. Nothing wrong with the car, think the front shocks might be getting some wear now, will have her at BMW soon for a few items I need sorted..
So my grills were plastidipped black some time ago, it did not last, faded and chips started to show. Not wanting to pay R2k for gloss grills I decided about a month ago to just sand and spray mine, worse case I can then buy a OEM set if I stuff it up.. But truth be told, came out okay, I am happy..
Removing the grill is easy, 5 min job.. Also gave me the opportunity to clean behind the grill and the radiator and intercooler got a nice scrub as well..
So I struggled with the plastidip, in my opinion it is not a product that will last given my experience.. I sanded the grills, sprayed with plastic primer, 2 coats matt black, 2 coats clear lacquer..
Obviously OEM gloss black is best, but this is close and I had all the paint, so it cost me nothing but some time :smilebounce:
