Congrats Sash,:bravo: I know how long you waited to get this done correctly and how much time you spent researching the right setup. cant wait the hear it

Thanks Ray, now i just wish i could have done it sooner, its another reason to drive the car more often....

With the current setup i can remove the sub if need be and I will still have mid bass, but Kevin mentioned the option of a 'holiday box' as he called it. A small effective sub, in a small enclosure that takes up little space.

I cant believe the mileage that this car does considering i dont use everyday.... It is due for her 10000km oil change and arrangements are being made for the following:
Liqui-moly toptech 5w 40
BMW oil filter
some atf for cleaning.

As soon as parts are available the car will be made available to Peter soonest.

I decided after more than a year after the last detail Gabby was due for another round. The idea was not so much about correction for me but more about removing contaminants and putting some good wax on that would last a while.

Some new products to try out

initial High pressure rinse

my helper cleaning his car.

Some snow foam...

some of the dirt coming off the car with just the foam

The dragons breath doing its job, was quite amzed at how much of crap came off

All dried, ready for claying

Not too much dirt, most of the car was like this with the dirtiest panels being the bottom of the doors, sidesills and rear bumper

I really struggled with the before pics, holding a DSLR as well as a light and trying to take a pic

the only after pic a managed to get/

trying to clean up the rubbers

Diesel fumes tend to collect on the number plate

Didnt think my lights were this bad till i took a close up

The products used:
Advanced Snow foam
Dragons breath cleaner on wheels
clayed with meguairs clay as well as shield clay bar and appropriate lube
paint cleaned with menzerna 4000
polished with meguairs crystal polish
waxed with collonite 845 twice with a week in between to age
tyres with glossworx extreme shine

the new wheels really give the car a different look from behind,

The rims would not be my choice, but they do look very good as it keeps it a sleeper.

Thanks Dewald, unfortunately, E60 owners are not spoilt for choice when it comes to accessories. Anything is possible with the right amount of $$$$ and i still cant justify forking out R40k for custom rims. I also didnt want the issues that come with spacers and modified wheels. I saw quite a few 20 inch wheels with the correct offset that were over my budget but acceptable, but they dont look as aggressive. An example of how most 20's would sit...

Also not my first choice, my first choice was M5 wheels.., and lo and behold and set of black OEM M5 wheels with tyres came up yesterday in PE..... although a long distance sale would be even lower on my priorities....

I am considering changing the colour.., but need to sort out other stuff first.

That looks fantastic there bud! Wow!
The rim is perfect I think. The stance of it is just right and the concave is epic on that rim.
As for the details, absolutely stunning chap. Really does look great.

I prefer what you have to those 20"s, looks way too "gangster".

Keep it a sleeper Sash, don't go to wild.

Thanks guys, i prefer subtle changes that a fanatic would notice. I like the fact that the new wheels give the car the aggressive stance and in terms of the detail.., i am no professional in fact my methods and products might only be 50% effective compared to other detailers, but i love it.

I also love the fact that my wife(no she is not reading this) lets me put the effort i do and my son is building his love for cars much earlier than i did.
