Based on BMW M3 Cabrio (E92)
A BMW M3 Cabrio (E92) has been transformed into a Manhart MH3 V8 R Biturbo with an X6 M engine for the 2012 Essen Motor Show.
Earlier this week we showed you Manhart's tweaked BMW M5 and now we have a closer look at their tuning program for the M3 Cabrio. The most important change is under the hood where the car features the V8 4.4-liter twin-turbo engine of the X6 M equipped with a carbon fiber cover. Through software optimization, the power unit has been tweaked to produce 655 hp (488 KW) and 719 lb-ft (955 Nm) of torque.
By removing the electronic top speed limiter, this modified M3 Cabrio can reach a top speed of more than 199 mph (320 km/h). They also installed an Akrapovic Evolution Titanium exhaust system with a sports catalytic converter and four 90mm tailpipes. Stopping power comes from X6 M-sourced 396mm drilled brake discs at the front and 374mm discs at the back with four-piston calipers.
Also from the X6 M is the six-speed automatic transmission which was equipped with a differential lock to provide better traction. It comes with front 9x20 wheels with high-performance 255/35ZR20 tires and rear 12x20 alloys covered by 305/25ZR20 rubbers. This heavily modified M3 Cabrio has also received a MHR suspension system by KW with in-house adjustments.
