its a nice car , but its not a fast car .
alot of peolpe voted for the Nazi's , Apartheid and in the 60's they all wanted afros's.
so going by public opinion neither shows reason or taste in most instances.

Lol someone should tell BMW that the M3 is slow

Oscar, apart from a C63 and modded x35i's what car currently on sale competes with the M3 from a pricing perspective.

Nothing really , it is a good value for money Gt car .
U need to put the performance into perspective .
The e46 m3 was a game changer , the v8 has not distanced itself far enough from it's own siblings and other performance cars .
Isf , rs4 , c63 and m3 all fit under the same blanket .
All of which suffer similar short comings bar the c63 which makes up for it's lack of poise with huge tuning ability .
On public roads the limits of the m3 are not tested .
Most owners are posers who just want the latest m.

I want an m that is fast in a straight line and on the track .
Roll on the next m3 with forced induction .

Here you go- note Sherwin- is +/- half a car ahead out the line. The Z4 catches and maintains all the way down the run. Note- Bone STOCK Z4 M vs Exede Tuned e90 M3 with Exhaust- hows them Pork Pies.

Ryan, I am so over these pissing contests that I wasn't even going to post. People pointed me to this thread & I said, "yeah, I lost" 'cos I actually was too busy & couldn't care less.

Then I see this post & I really have to say it's a lie. I'm sorry if you don't agree. Darren is on this forum & I'm sure he recalls what happened. At no stage did the Z4 pass me. I was ahead all the way & started opening bigger from 4th. And because it was 2 buddies racing, I did just enough to win without abusing the car.

I believe a V8 M3 will run 237+ on the 1km soon. That's what it's capable of with chip + zorst on a decent run. With no stripping. And stripping 46kg from a 4 door M3, still makes it heavier than an unstripped 2 door with carbon roof. All I Was trying to do was get my weight to that of a 2-door.

A V8 M3 isn't necessarily about all out power. There are faster cars out there. But it's fast enough & the pleasure from driving it is unrivalled. Having one in the garage is an awesome feeling 'cos when you want to go out and drive a car that will reward you back, you know you can.

I don't want to get into any arguments with you guys, so if you diagree then so be it, I am a liar I will concede. No need to try to argue me to the ground, I concede already.

I don't even want to argue about this video where the same M3 & Z4 ran, I think the witnesses that saw it say it was lightpoles, but I'm not interested in arguing about it.

Just by the way- if you keen to try a modded C63 with your Exede M3 can arrange a hookup for you. Personally I think the ones you ran were pretty pap !!!!

Aske Sherwin- he will explain.

I had a problem that day. So when I tapped off you passed me. So yes you won. And you beat Thamen's stock M3.

But let me be brutally honest with you. Your car was slow. M3's were slower on the day, mind you. But you 63 was slow nonetheless.

DAM, I didn't want to get into this sh1t & now here I am. Lord please forgive me.

Journalists around the world that drive exotic cars daily, call the M3 trhe best all-round car on the planet. Even the biggest & oldes car magazine in the world does:

NOBBY- can you not read- I am saying the M3 is a great car just not for me.

As for the issues you have with me.
- if your stripped out, modified V8 didnt beat my STOCK 6 cylinder after 250kms then the law of phyisics dont work.
- I trapped 244kph at ODI dont hyphothesise about it do it.
- must really grate you that there are some people that could give a continental what you think hey???????

That's the whole thing of these online pissing contests, it doesn't stop. Goes back & forth with "he said, she said". Total waste of time.

Anway, I was driving that day in the video I posted. You were driving your car. So one of us is lying, & I am a liar so it must be me. I recall pulling away from 25km/h. Not 250km/h. If you look at the video the M3 is running away from the word go. I don't know what you mean about 250km/h. But yeah OK whatever.

V8 M3 is not the fastest car out there. That's not the point of an M3. It's never been all about outright speed. I'm pretty sure everyone that bought an M3 could have afforded a V10 but chose the M3 due to other considerations.

I really hope this comment put this debate to rest guys. For me, Sherwin has summed up the reason why we love the M3; it is just such a damn competent and beautiful car. I saw the ///M beating up the Killarney track in fabulous & exuberant style last week and i thought: thats why we love this car; thats why every little boy dream about having one; it pleases the owner; it pleases those that look at this car with adoration and it is simply desirable from any angle. Will certainly consider this icon when the prices begin to subside.

Pro of the M3 V8 is that when i wanna go get something at the quickshop around the corner it takes me 20 minutes and i come home with a smile.
