M2 or M235i

I am like 90% sure this is the car that was sold for Zambesi though. It the only one I have seen with those M stripes on the grille.

This would make sense since my SA was avoiding my questions about the first demo car that was brought there and did mention a few times that sometimes "corporates" get first picking at the special cars.

You will propably find a GTS on there floor also when it comes out. And people like me who wants a GTS to keep BMW SA says no.

This is sad but true... The M4 I ordered before I even knew how it looked and before people even knew it was called an m4. Deposit paid and when the car came others before me got their cars... Way before. And to make matters worse the price increased. On principal I declined to buy the car

Bmw did this to me on the e92 M3 as well. Made to feel like they doing me a favour... So not surprised at all with the M2. It's sick...

I was told the M4's had the same problem of availability for the first year? Apparently couldn't get one anywhere and now I must have counted 10 on the floor when I went for my last visit.

Seems like fouche has removed the advert from autotrader on the possibly illegal sale of the M2 at R1.3m . Looks like these chat forums do help in exposing the shenanigans. I also did inform BMWSA and BMWAG of the corruption. Seems like this chat forum has been hacked too because I don't see the picture I posted with the extortion price.

If it was a legit transaction , they won't have a problem telling you who they sold it to. Try asking them . Get the VIN no . I am 90 % sure they pulled the advert after I sent a picture of the advert to 1. Tim ABBOTT , MD OF BMWSA 2. Ian Robertson , Head of Sales BMWAG 3. BMW dealers where my allocation was usurped 4. Customer service Salesh Singh BMW SA 5. My lawyers .

Why do you guys not take your money and buy the new Porsche Cayman Coupé 718? It's similarly priced, it's a Porsche, and in my opinion looks like an awesome car. 0-100 times are similar as well.

I have been contemplating the porsche but I got quoted R860 000 for my M2 but a nicely specced 718 would be around a million here. Plus I think the S model is the only contender to the m2 with preformance and that's well over a million.

I guess it's also my own fault for waiting since I knew this might happen. The first two allocations to my dealership got sold to people above me awaiting (one with very similar m stripes ended up at fouche a few days later ... not suspicious at all ...). The biggest let down would be that if I don't get the car, the price of a M235i (240i) has shot up to a Base price as much as I was quoted in October with extras. And the price of the M2 may increase before I even get given a chance to get one. It's all very frustrating. But hey, I want the car, It's my decision to wait and see if the price doesn't become stupid expensive.

I would wait it out as well, in your position. No new BMW is more appealing than the M2, to me. But I'd never settle for an M235i/M240i. It's at that point, that I'd bite the bullet and go the secondhand M4/3 route.

Oh I agree with you on that. The M2 is the most appealing new BMW. The only issue with the M3/4 is the size. It's huge. But I happened to see a Yas Marina Blue M3 kitted with some M goodies and I could not stop staring. Even got me to go check out what are prices on used ones. So who knows. :'D
