Update: Extended the motorplan of my car for another year so I have until May 2017 to wait for the M2. Not ideal for pricing since anything can happen with our current economical climate. But my SA told me there are 3 allocations coming in October. A little bit annoyed because it looks like the people that are working at the dealership (higher ranked) are taking up the first batch (as what happened to the demo that was sold to the general manager) but hopefully I will get my allocation in October, more than a year after starting to look for a new car.
Thoughts of just dumping the idea and going for a M235i, A45 or mustang have crossed my mind but I think it is worth waiting for when I see pictures like this:

The sad thing is that 2 months after you receive your M2 in May 2017 , your car will depreciate by 30 % because of the expected July 2017 LCI (life cycle impulse ) on the 2 series . Though the changes are cosmetic , it won't be nice to pay close onto 1m for car that's now outdated in spec . Perhaps you should look at a post July 2017 allocation

Using your logic nobody would buy anything at all. There's always going to be something around the corner. With the economy the way it is who knows how much the M2 & 240i will cost in 2017 or post 2017. I bought a 235i in early Feb, zero regrets. I'm riding around in a great car now. I could be dead by 2017. I hope those aren't prophetic words.

I to also had a choice to wait for the new LCI M135i but decided to buy my M135i in 2014 no regrets since. It's the same story with smart phones you wait so long for new release only to have a newer model 6 months later

Is it just me or just the m240i not have the same ring as saying m235i [SMILING FACE WITH OPEN MOUTH AND COLD SWEAT] but yes I'm sitting out waiting for the M2. If I do receive an allocation in October. The car would be here by December and I would take delivery in January.
The LCI of the 2 series won't affect the M2 at all luckily and I end up not being able to get the M2 then I will consider the m240i.

I even paid a deposit in July 2015 and got written confirmation that I will get first allocation to build .... I think BMWSA can eradicate the corrupt allocation system but choose not to so that their dealerships can make such initial filthy profits to compensate for poor demand once supply increases .. A thievish business model they competition commissioner may fine the BMW dealership association as they fined them in the past for similar thing .. Really fined about 8million rands . This time the fine could be about R80 million.

I was told if a BMW dealership is caught being sold to a dealership, BMW SA will suspend or stop their license to trade. However they just get someone else to order for them so.. that didn't work..
OP, which dealership are you dealing with? i want to put my name on list, but not sure which dealer to pick haha

I had one dealership mention that's to me that they only sell on finance since they are scared of loosing there license by selling to dealerships (since they pay cash and resale instantly which is what happend here)
The list are very long now. I'm at Zambesi BMW now and they are the biggest M dealer in the country so I'm hoping this will mean more allocation later into the year. I would give them a call and find out what can be done.

It's not a profit margin but an 'extortion' or premium margin of R400k . ... Because this is do endemic , BMWSA will do nothing ....so easy to trace the dealer through the VIN number ... In any case, the originating dealer , the individual who first purchased and now this pseudo dealer on auto trader can share the cool R400k .... Worse than nkandka ...

I am like 90% sure this is the car that was sold for Zambesi though. It the only one I have seen with those M stripes on the grille.
This would make sense since my SA was avoiding my questions about the first demo car that was brought there and did mention a few times that sometimes "corporates" get first picking at the special cars.

Very much like a Zupta system too at BMWSA and their BMW dealerships ... I was told by s dealership CEO that he will be giving his son the first car even though my deposit was in one year ago and I am first on the list

3 nights ago , a guy , who is the son of another 'corporate ' came in with a mineral grey M2 . It had 60 km on the clock .It had SMG stickers on it . He said it's going to JHB the next day . He said its his second M2 . He had an LBB which he also sent to JHB the day before . On the mineral fret , he said he making a quick R75 k premium . Not sure if his source on the LBB or premium. Could be from Durban too

The dealership that denied me my first allocation in favor of his 'son' was Supertech Durban ....I think a name and shame if these dealerships may cajole BMWSA into doing something . But very few read these forums ... Hope the forum administrators help to create maybe a hashtag #BMWMUSTFALL or something
