Can someone please open a forum subject titled ordering issues with M2 . After my post , there are now many more people who are complaining about being sidelined yet deposits were paid and received verbal commitments . Luckily mine in writing , but still being denied through technicalities

It is all hot air. Nobody can promise anything until they get an allocation. My dealer refused to take a deposit before he can promise a car. The RTP forms just stats that I am waiting for a car from BMW and they will assign an allocation to it when it they give the allocations to the country. I have a feeling the first batch should come start of march for april/may.

The car has been confirmed for 5 year production period so it's not going to be limited at all like the 1M with a possible LCI model around year 3 or 4. Don't believe the 'limited' hype.

Yeah we will wait for the first year sadly ... they are doing it on purpose to increase the demand ... but if you wait long enough you should get one (keeping in mind that the longer you wait, the more expensive it will get.). Also that is pretty much what BMW SA told me.

That funny Long Beach blue ... checked it on a X6M the other day and it looks green in the sun. Would have been nice in Yas Marina Blue!

I do agree on that point about not being able to walk in and buy one off the floor. It will probably be order only due to the demand. Porche is going that direction too.

So whilst BMW is in the spotlight , I think other brands dealerships will get the message . For far too long , dealerships have been creating false demand supply dynamics in the niche market

I think mostly they just lie about scarcity. While I totally understand the enthusiasm with which one might desire to be among the first to own a car you've set your heart on, it can be costly. No way you'll get the standard 5-8% discount on list price you can almost always negotiate on a new car purchase.

Wait 6 months after the first deliveries and you may find a more competitive market for the M2. Right now all the pressure is on the demand side.

Exactly. I've decided it better just to sit back and relax even if I do only get my car closer to the end of the year, I may be able to get a discount. My SA said that the second batch of allocations should come through in August for October and then he said there would be more cars.
