The 720hp version I drove when visiting G-Power in March this year.

Unbelievable power!!!

Not that power is unknown to me... my personal ride in Germany is a EDO RS6 (V8 with 535 hp) and my buddy got the ABT RS6 (V10 with 750 hp) but this thing is agile and responsive with every millimeter trottle movement!

Does that go for the E60 M5 as well?

G-Power E60 M5 Bi-Kompressor SK-II system with two superchargers produces 660hp without touching the engine!!!

What's the full budget price? What's the difference in low budget & high budget kits?

Please see attached PDF Pricelists

All prices in Euro ex warehouse Germany
Current exchange rate 1 Euro = ZAR10.251 (today, 04.07.2012)

The top end SK-III system kits with 720hp (M3) and 800hp (M5) are not DIY.
Due to best possible cooperation with BMW and our chosen dealership SMG in Cape Town, all our non DIY kits are installed at SMG's premisses as a relationship for training top SMG machanics has been established!

WOW... but realy?? 600k? for the SK III? Thats 150% of the M5's value... Im no expert at all on these kind of conversions but oh my goodness... even the SK I is like 200k(50% of an e60 M5's value) for 68kw... Thats only a 18% increase... surely 18% aint worth 200k...

Dont crucify me now guys...:fencelook:

rather inlighten me if im missing something...

No one will crucify you Jean.... just because milkmaids calculations are never rational!

These system kits are available since when the E60 M5 was still in production!
If you own a 20 year old car I want to see the dealer's face when you come to the parts department and argue with them that they charge too much for the part because the value of your car is only R5000 :=):

Somehow i feel crucified and not enlightened... lol

Anyways, it might have seemed that i drew all my conclusions from the value of the car in question, but actually i was mearly stating that it is MUCH more expensive than what i thaught(yes it down to the limited no. of units sold ect)... I bet a few people on this forum are going like "BLIKSIM thats cheap!"

Even so, the fact that 200k gets you a 18% increase in power on the SK 1 conversion is, to me at least, not much. 18% is the kind of performance gain that a freeflow, cone and a wash got me on my old banger monza... Just saying...

PS. Take the monza comment with a pinch of salt please:rollsmile:

No... Jean you are right... the current M5 stuff (S85 engine) is expensive!
The reason for this is that the system consists of TWO superchargers.... so virtually everything is doubled thus a high price!

There will be a low budget version for the M5 as well in the near future with only one supercharger which will bring the price down considerably, obviously!

Whats the difference between SK1 and SK2? Not powerwise, but hardware.

  • SK-II has additional snake branches
  • SK-II has additional "racing spark plugs"
  • SK-II has different blow off valve with different tension spring for highr boost
  • SK-II has different software for ECU and DCT

Any more questions? Go ahead I am open to answer any question you may have

So with a bit of skill and a software tuner one could upgrade from the SK1 to the SK2? :fencelook:

Looks nice but you can get an ESS kit in with similar power levels for 170k landed in SA. Also, DIY installation.

ESS gets my vote

Oh and why would you want to change the F10 M5 from twin turbo to a single SC unit. Counter productive if you ask me.

We are not talking about F10 M5 ... only E60 S85 engine related

an e34 540i manual article in total BMW magazine had 286 hp std increased to about 420 hp with a single supercharger and stock internals . Most of us think the standard six speed is fast enough .
As the engines are more modern it costs more to get more power out , a highly developed engine may not give more power output with normal tuning .

mmmmm now where are all those MB kompressors that are in the scrapyards ? , a bm with a merc kompressor :roflol:
