Thought I'd do an update since I haven't posted in about a month:

Suspension feels really really good. Nothing else really needed to be changed apart from the dampers. The cost to motorplan was astronomical... Like KW V3 setup is the budget solution if you need 4 dampers changed. I doubt the car will need another set in it's life.

The retrofit of the touchbox ECU (enabling the touch controller's full functionality) has been done with the help of the dealer. It is immediately detected on ISTA+ and was functional within 10 minutes. The part was cheap enough that it made sense to buy brand new from the dealer and I made my own harness very inexpensively I really wanted to get this working even though you never really use the functionality.

Reliability wise I had another tiny coolant leak on the turbocharger system which was coming from a rubber pipe and repaired in a day. Alignment was done at the same time as the tyres and seems to be wearing well.

Approx 1200km use on the pic below:

I consider the oil consumption to be good and as I mentioned before, since doing the breather pipes/valve I am only now (close to 10000km of use) close to requiring a top up.

Wheels are in need of a refurb at this point and have accumulated quite a few scratches and chips. Fortunately the colour is very forgiving. When the front tyres are due I will be either putting them up for sale as-is or repairing them and putting them in storage, going with 601M competition pack wheels.

Retrofitting tails is possibly on the agenda, but they look so similar to Pre-LCI I am not sure its worth the effort. Quite a few sets sitting on the shelves at scrap yards... however if I can pull off the surround view retrofit (the pieces are coming together slowly) I'd rather keep some money aside to complete that project if I decide to go with brand new parts.

The Gyeon One quartz coating continues to perform amazingly well. I have no regrets at all (ok, maybe not going for Gyeon Mohs right away) and it is a major step up from things I've tried before from a longevity perspective as well. Still feels like it was done yesterday.

I have subsequently cleaned and coated the leather with Gyeon Q2 Leather Shield which leaves what I consider to be a perfect like-factory finish. Pics are with flash and lighting. Reality is quite different

The itch for the M2 Comp Pack is there for something different and what I feel will be an exceptional car. When the configurator went live and I saw the price I have to say it really made me think... I actually submitted a finance app yesterday. However, if it happens the M5 will certainly be staying in my garage as well.

As much as I've tried to justify it thusfar, F90 pricing just doesn't work for me right now with the various moving parts in life in general, though one will no doubt be in my future.

I've been slowly assembling a few things as I find them online and at scrap yards. Also found some good sources of info for various things.

Added a switch panel for some of them... I think I will be adding them all except for night vision. Panel was PNP... just power, ground & 2 CAN wires as with the iDrive controller and TBX unit earlier in this thread.

mmWvl2Il.jpg

and Top , Rear and Side View Camera module... Car already has the front KAFAS unit as well as reverse cam (all the ZA cars do)

eUwDffdl.jpg

Cameras sourced from Designa Ridez (Just need to find time in the next few weeks)
One mirror (camera and blindspot) found at Lou Appels but I am going to wait a while and see if there is a pair that I can get instead.
Will be buying the four wires new

My stock mirrors will be up for sale when the time comes.

More to come in the next month including wheels and possibly a new garage addition...

Ceramic coatings on outside and leather continue to impress... My time has become quite limited so will see how these projects go

Thanks for watching

Small update:

Rather annoyingly, I discovered this at work... No note either. I discovered that basement parking at work has no cameras apart from the entrance/exit either :thumbdo:

Car will have front bumper sprayed and having the back refurbed whilst it is at the ARC. Will be using Northcliff Auto ARC... heard some mixed reports but let's see how it pans out. I don't think many can mess up a job this simple.

Unfortunately this, together with my new role allowing me zero time available to have new wheels fitted, I will target early November to finish that little project. I've ceramic coated them in the interim though.

Will feed back on the repair and hopefully have wheels on shortly afterwards

Sorry to hear about the minor bash there.
Hopefully it'll be sorted out in no time, more of an inconvenience than anything else.

Thanks guys

Will be doing the dashcam thing when the car is back. There are dash cams that record based on close motion.

It goes in next Monday and should be back relatively quickly. I am cautiously hoping for Friday.

Some nicer pics ahead of car going in for repairs. Test fitted these babies on MPSC2. Weights are not bad, Front 12.8kg and Rear 13.7kg. 20x9.5 and 20x10.5

Back from repairs

Front bumper had a numberplate holder delete (i have it still in case I have issues LOL)

ijo37SOl.jpg

Rear bumper was also resprayed and a few minor things corrected

kfj2WaDl.jpg

Made a quick pit stop on my way back. Had to double check that they actually were balanced as the ones I looked at had no weights on them LOL
