I've seen guys say that you can mix eth and NF Ultra and run it in your x35 when you have JB4. Is this true or were they taking the mickey? Jb4 only?

Yes on the N54 you can run a percentage of Ethanol in your fuel with just the Jb

on the N55 and newer x35's, you need an add on, called Flex Fuel wires inorder to run Ethanol...

please remove your jb4 if you are going for servicing/failure work under motorplan.... it will be just silly to leave it in even if your tuner/supplier says its fine,ask him if he will cover your motorplan after it gets revoked by bmw... the Jb4 system is undetectable when removed but if its left in its a gamble they will see it.

AFAIK, flex fuel wire is needed if you running a high mix of eth (e85 n so on) . No? E10 is advised on my petrol flap.

Started feeling the car lacking some power yesterday afternoon. (there was a small bit of race mix in when I topped up the tank with Engen (I only use Engen from one garage)

This morning, while the car was still warming up, in 4th, while loading it a bit, I noticed it pinging. Currently on Map 5. Is this normal? It seems to be fine now, Loaded it a bit on the freeway now and could not hear any pinging. Could this be fuel related of the fact that the car was not at optimum temps earlier?

I got a CEL and checked the codes with JB...
- 23C9 - I have no idea what it is and Google was of no help
- 2C57 - often get it with JB
- 2C90 - often get it with JB

Vehicle is N55 DCT with CP Intake and Stage 2 JB with FF

Wow i have not visited this thread in a very long time. Glad its still of use.

The two C codes are boost leak related. I would look at the chargepipe and the intercooler connecting pipes...something there is leaking under boost. You may not get it without the JB...

Under hard boost it rears its head.

That 23 code i dont know. Could be related to the boost leak or a sensor.

But fix the leak first.
