Help me understand MHD data log

So I put in some NF Ultra last night on full tank of 95.

The dyno results today show 200.4wkw and 414Nm. The dyno graph itself is still not smooth but at least the car is now giving figures like other stock vehicles.

Below are the links to my MHD logs for these last two runs. Apparently the timing seems to be still trying to retard. I don't know why and not sure how to fix it other than flashing a map. Should I even bother to try this yet? I know the second my tank is empty and I fill up again I again losing the 20wkw gain with the NF Ultra.

I see the timing jumps a bit with the log but at the same time I see the throttle position drops from 99.9/100% to about 40% region. This seems odd to me.

Below are some dyno graphs. One can see how unsmooth that graph line is.

At least a big improvement since the 154wkw and 350Nm to 181wkw and 399Nm after intercooler was fixed to the now 200.7wkw to 414Nm with NF Ultra. At least making some progress in the right direction.

Something else I noticed this morning, my idle was very low when cold compared to normal. Roughly 600rpm. Usually, with aircon on, it is +-700rpm.

This lower idle this morning made the motor shake a bit, and give impression that it was close to stalling. Went away after it warmed up. Will see how it goes when I start it up this afternoon.

This is the noise I hear on cold starts. The audio is faint from within the cabin so you will need headphones or to turn up the volume a bit.

The tank of full still has the NF Ultra mixed in it.

Anyone able to look at the logs or provide some input regarding the timing issue?

Haha. You have to juice the volume a bit in the video to heard the sound. It is a rapid dup dup dup dup noise.

What do you guys reckon regarding the potential issue on the logs and graph?

dunno what to say....iv'e got the Logitech z906 speakers and I've cranked them full blast to the point where my cupboards and windows are shacking! I've also tried a pair of Sony noise canceling headphones and all I hear is a smooth idling engine.

I don't hear a problematic motor at all I might be missing something :dunnoanymore:, sounds pretty normal to me.

I think you worrying about things that don't exist now :) Your car is making good power and seems to be running well. The dyno graph with the bad fuel was a bit suspect but then when you ran it with NF it looks pretty normal to me. A turbo car isn't going to have a smooth graph like a NA car, its going to have peaks and dips due to boost raising and timing having to change to accommodate, waste gate duty cycle controlling the boost etc. There is allot of stuff going on there.

How does the car feel to drive?

Have you checked what errors are present with MHD? O2 sensor problems? misfiring cylinders? exhaust solenoids?

Haha. I might be worrying about nothing. I am just not sure that the car should only be doing 200wkw with NF and not stock.

The car feels good. Doesn’t feel funny. Pre-NF and better with NF.

I looked at the codes this morning. All I found was the 2DD0 code that says it is inactive. A google search is not showing me what the Valvetronic exceeds threshold actually is.

I don’t think the other sensors are giving an issue. I don’t see something that indicates otherwise.

I saw last night that once plugs and stuff are changed that adaptations should be reset. I tried doing that this morning but the app says I need a license but doesn’t show me which one. If it is the flasher module then I am holding back a bit as this is R3k on the N55 app.

On a side note, started the car and let the idle sterile. 600rpm shake was still there. Switched off the car and cleared/resetted the codes on the DME, and on the other modules section, and then started the car again and let the idle settle again. No shake this time. Will see how it goes the next few mornings.

Doesn't sound healthy.. get your sensors tested..

Who would or where would I go about doing this? Just for peace of mind.

The revs at idle after getting home yesterday were hovering around the 800rpm mark again. Plugged in the MHD and it showed the inactive shadow code 2DD0 code once more. Cleared it, Switched the car off and back on again and idle was fine plus no code.

Any ideas why that code has appeared for me twice and both times it said inactive? Maybe something needs a clean?

As for the retard I was asking about, I think I should maybe replace my knock sensors. Not sure it will fix anything but maybe they are what caused the timing retard.

Have you checked the plugs? I also saw a post on E90post about the N55 suffering from vanos issues and something about a TMAP sensor

Have you tried posting your logs on there?

Plugs are new. I have seen people clean their vanos on the N54 and got good results from doing that so might look into cleaning mine on the N55 as well.

I don’t have a profile on there yet. Been thinking about it but I mostly just browse that side. I see they posted about the 2DD0 error too but no answers were given.

I am getting these air intake sensor errors now when reading DME codes on the app.

Any ideas? Car seems fine. Clearing the codes doesn’t take them away even after restarting car and app to read again.

What I can find, I should first try cleaning the TMAP and MAP sensors. Never done this and can’t find good DIY thread. Anytime done this before?

you can get a maf cleaner from midas. its basically an electrical contact cleaner. Just spray these things down with that stuff and see if it corrects the problem.

I will see if the Midas close by has some otherwise will need to go hunting.

I imagine the MAF cleaner is much milder than benzine or the engine cleaner sprays as they could cause damage to the sensors?

I hooked up the MHD app over the weekend and did the live monitoring gauges. I was seeing boost reaching 16.2 which obviously must be wrong as the car isn’t tuned, has stock turbos and definitely didn’t feel faster. These incorrect value make me think something is reading incorrectly due to dirty sensor or it is on its way out.
