And so it begins...

Added some vinyl on the front chrome... It's still growing on me. Not sure how to add vinyl to the other chrome, in the bends and so on?

Ps. There are water marks on the vinyl from the rain.

I live in Pretoria East, about 10km from Menlyn Shopping mall.

I had some Matt vinyl lying around, will go buy some proper stuff this weekend, then I will get some gloss black.

Where are you located Psypher13?

gloss black will look very classy on it man ..
for the bends, just remove the grills, unclip black piece from the chrome .. and u can wrap the chrome part .. a hair dryer will help soften the vinyl if u dont have a heat gun ... done! .. :cartel:

Thanks Teezy,

Psypher explained the same to me in a PM.

I am following this guide: http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=3830

But with vinyl instead of paint.

I am contemplating doing the inside trim in gloss black as well. The silver is not really that appealing to me. But will give it some more thought, I don't want to over do anything.

no probs man .. its easier that ur grill is split ( 2 piece ) .. bit of a mission to get the curves right when u have to fold the vinyl in.. alot of stretching required then ...
heres some Inspiration ...

Ended up spraying the top parts of the kidneys flat black with a semi gloss clear coat. The rest of the car still shines more after a wash, so all in all it looks decent. Will take pics in the morning.

I want to sell off my mags and tyres and get another set without run flats. I think I will be able to fetch enough for another set and tyres, given that the rear tyres are very new and the front ones has only done 400km. It is Michelin tyres all round. The mags are also all in very good shape.

What BMW sports mags would you recommend?

Decided to keep my current mags for the time being.

I want to do a upgrade on my subs and front speakers. Anyone know of a good brand that will fit?

As I understand the subs under the seat must be shallow mounted 8" subs.

Not sure what size the front co-axials should be.

Need to do some research.

So my car slept at the dealer last night.

They are doing the following:

1. Replace Alternator. Will resolve 'Charge Fault' errors.
2. Replace faulty sensor on restraint system. Will resolve 'Restraint System Faulty' errors.
3. Upgrade and reset gearbox software.

They just called me and said there is a possibilty that I will have to wait another day. :skit:

cars under plan bro?

Bought from BMW pre-owned. 1 month/1000km warranty. :joy:

But that is all over now. I do however have a extended warranty/maintenance plan thingy up until November. Where they help you pay for anything major.

Thanks man!

I used Rust-Oleum double cover black spray paint with a clear UV resistant clear coat. Bought both cans at builders at R220 each.
