Thanks for the comments guys. Nick wants the car in Gizmo's hands. And I totally agree. He will do a top notch 6spd manual conversion and this way the car is closer to home.

Also they need to get home so they can return to work. So this is really the only solution. The car has to come up this weekend.

Venter trailers next to me have really nice double axel trailers, going to cost you like R600 for 2 days or something.

Just to update as well. Nick will remove the sideshafts so that the gearbox won't get totally destroyed. Towing isn't very nice, so we going to take it steady and stop frequently. Concentration is pretty tense sitting so close behind someone.

if your using a bar,and the drive shafts are out then should be able to do 120km

remember years ago when my beetle jammed in gear,the wife towed me with her citi golf,we were doing 140k an hour on the r21,then it was two lanes and i had to keep my foot on the clutch,pretoria to boksburg,she thought my hand gesture where to go faster,i was actually telling her to stop:roflol:a

and we used a rope:nonono:

That's quite a story. I just remember Racing Snake towing my mom and I back home from a midnight run with the E30 V8 and I was so grateful he had a tow-bar and was willing to help us.

@ Sean and RAArmstrong, if we leave margate by say 8am (to avoid local traffic) then we should be by you guys around 10-10h30. Just so you can plan around that so long.

Thanks Andy, I can't tell you how thankful I am that your going out your way to come tow my car back to JHB! I literally had run out of options to get my car back to JHB! and getting the car to Durban to get it onto a train was another story in itself!

This whole Turbo popping twice and gearbox now going is such a nightmare its unbelievable! and to make matters worse it has to happen when im 700km from my house!
