I would stick with rubber components on a daily.

Also, the Sachs dampers are very well priced so consider those as well. (OEM)

I have to a agreed with the rubber bits, my ploy bushes needs some lubing they are a bit squeaky. However I like the feel more than the noise bothers me

Also don't mind the squeeky noises...its the feel and directness I'm after

So give you an idea of how my car feels, we have those dome/nipple speed bumps in our complex. If I take the 125i over the bumps I feel them but it does not shake me in my seat (my wife just goes over them same speed like 20kp/h :rage: ). With the 325i, if I hit them to quickly it moves me in my seat and heads be bobbing (this is funny if the wife is trying to read BS on her phone).

:praise:Love it. Makes me want one more and more.

Afaik the poly bushes need to be well lubricated (with a lithium based lubricant like coppa-slip) before inserting and then re-lubricated once in a while depending on useage etc. otherwise they will squeak like an Isuzu kb300 lol

Sound about right then.
I remember when I still had my scooby, my then GF ( current wife) had to wear a sports bra anytime we drove with it.

Speak to Sean, I am very happy with my Koni Str & H&R sport setup. Mix of poly and rubber bushes on my e46

I would suggest fitting the H&R kit that lowers it the least.

The standard M Sport suspension is already so low, the car catches everywhere. Its even lower than an M3 std.

If you can stretch the budget, go for the Koni sport yellow shocks. They are worth it

That's definitely an option.

As for budget, don't really have one as I buy some stuff for her almost every month.
I do not want to skimp on these type of parts and regret it everytime I drive her.

Planning on buying as much parts as possible and taking her to Gizmo in the new year to fit.

As of now I got a bunch of cooling system parts, reinforcement plates, RTAB limiters etc.
After suspension its time to buy the VANOS repair kit etc the engine performance orientated goodies.

Do the shockmounts and reinforcing plates too

So its time for a small update..

Finally settled on a coilovers I liked.
Thanks to all guys who chipped in and gave their opinion on and off the forum.

Went with Bilstein, the B14 variant as it tick all the right boxes etc.

KoniSA (Ashley ) agreed to help me fit all the various parts incl. Oem reinforcement plates, front and rear droplinks, poly LCA bushes, front and rear shock mounts and of course the strutbraces ( front and rear).
Stupid me forgot the rear poly bushes and the Powerflex adjustable camber arms at home!

Anyway,
Set the right to almost the highest they will go ( about a 30-35mm drop compared to std, but they can go 70mm lower than std btw) and took her for alignment.

The drive home was a relevation! Smooth as silk, planted AF..

Fast forward to today and things are a bit more dreary..

Came from my folks place in Harties and because of roadworks decided to shoot straight through Brits towards Thabazimbi.

Bad freaking choice!

The road condition outside Brits was terrible.
Hit a dip( u shape elevation change about 1.5m in width) ( MF!!) at about 100km/h and heard like I hit the bump stops on the suspension.
Didn't feel any difference in steering feel etc but the was a grinding noise and vibration that could be felt in the car at low speed.

Got home to check the car from underneath but couldn't see any suspension damage.

Next exhaust.
Now I see where the headers go down to where the straight pipes start theirs some damage. Fck.

It also looks like my cats are touching the heatshields now.

Forgot to update this thread...

Fitted new engine mounts ( OEM ) and everything is sorted again...

New badges are also on and she was recently serviced ( 215kkm)

Mileage now is just over 216700 km

Stuff still to be fitted is the gaskets and cat less headers.

@osiris she is as good as a car with 217kkm on the odo.
No seriously she's planted, surefooted and tight like a drum.

She might go up for sale though...maybe

Same problem, and I truly understand.

Nissan 1400 stands outside...the damage done by the elements completely messed it up.
