@ the OP... you asked who you could take your car to? Anton at APS has been looking after a few of the M owners' cars. He is out in Stikland. Give him a call, and get his opinion. Couldn't hurt.

That being said, I'm also someone who looks after my car meticulously... once the motor plan had expired, I didn't renew. Just made sure I always drove the car warm before putting any kind of excessive pressure to the happy pedal... fluids changes at every 10K km, etc...

But if so many people are saying there are bearing knocks even with taking good care, then I'd go with the preventative measure...

It's like saying you ride the train and haven't been robbed yet... there's no guarantee... the risk is always there...

What did they charge you if I may ask? Would love to have an idea of dealer pricing.

My car is parked off at TuneTech waiting for all my internals to arrive so I can start with my rebuild... (bearings cried at 94k kms).

Spoke to Shawn Sing (owner of TuneTech) the other day, and he has a total of 10... TEN!!! s65 and s85 in his shop that ran bearings waiting for repairs.

I was really keen on grabbing a E92 M3 next year, no way I am going that route now, it's actually sad to see so many of these lovely cars having problems.

Good luck to you guys with the bonnets open, keep us updated wrt the rebuild process.
