customer still going ahead with this car?
He has no choice. Far too much has been invested in it already to pull the plug now...Car cost R130k and more than R100k poured into it already.

Built S50B30 will be at least another R100k.

A crate of parts from VAC, engineering work and patience, we want a reliable 600hp here, nothing less. The fact the car is only running on essentially 3 cylinders and still makes 200wkw on 0.4bar is still impressive...

Wow this is a bummer.

I hope the owner acknowledges your efforts, because a lot of times with these projects that gets handed over from one guy to the next, the last person does not always get the recognition for the work they performed when the project in total is a failure.

I hope it turns out all right in the end

Look, the fact the guy hasn't kicked my head in for taking 2 years to tell him his engine is poked is gonna be chalked up as a win. I have gained so much experience from it and that's priceless.
For the most part I have resurrected her, she just needs a new heart.

Ahhh...nothing much needed - Besides a NEW heart...

You make it sound so easy to take in...if it was a 318is engine, in a heartbeat it would be swopped - but alas, its a mighty M motor we are talking about.

Lets say, if the owner follows through(which he should btw) - he needs to make sure he never gets rid of it...300k+....I would want to be buried in the car I spend so much money on...so to say - it needs to last me a lifetime, and I would need to invest in a slightly bigger burial plot.

Lets hope we can see this car change from night to day once the owner makes the call.

I make it sound easy 'cos I ain't footing the bill, the labour for me is the easy and fun part.

This is by far the worst car that has been sold on this forum and now we know why it was sold in the first place, PO knew it and cut his losses and sold it to an unsuspecting buyer, the car failed 20km after Ryan collected it and he hasn't driven it since, that was 2yrs ago. We both saw the car needed work but we didn't realise how deep the rabbit hole went at first, buyer's remorse indeed!

Would buying a 2JZ have been a better option?

Fixed

Im gonna be a rebel here :cartel:

But really feel for the owner here :sorry:

If HP is what the owner is after, Why no cut losses with ///M power...sell off whatever can be salvaged from the current setup and throw in a 2JZ? Tried and tested single turbo conversion should see 600HP...not?

Flame suit on

Please keep the S50B30 motor! An M3 needs an M3 motor even if it's turbo charged, without an M motor it would never feel complete to me!
