What colour are the tops of your injectors? Or better yet, can you see the part number on them? They start with 0280150. Would appreciate it!

Now that is interesting. The 947's are used by the guys in the US to upgrade their M3 fuel systems. So they're a sort of sky blue up top?

Any other 328i drivers who can confirm?

Reason I'm asking is because I bought a 328i engine a while back, and looking at the part number (0-280-150-415) it seems I got injectors from a 320/323/325i, and they have pale blue/greenish tops. Just want to know what part numbers South Africa is using.

okay, so I checked, and I think I'm about to confuse things even more..... :flyfun: I have pink ones?!?!?! They seem to be from a late model E36 M3, or a late model Z3 M roadster.

pics of my injectors:

I've done some digging, and found these pics with some more detail on the differences between the three different injectors found so far on the 328i 's.

Hope this helps and does not confuse further...

Thank you! The 440's, according to the BMW part number, are what are supposed to be in the 328i and later-model American M3's, so you're normal! sidewayz was a wildcard.

So, anyone else?! Rhett, Raybimmer?

In both cases though, I clearly have the wrong injectors...

damn! and there I thought I was special! As a matter of interest, was this on the 3.0l or the 3.2l M3 motor?

3.2l S52 motor. I really wonder how injectors spec'd for a 328i end up being used on a 3.2l, or maybe I have it the other way around. Both cars use 3.5bar FPR's.

What confuses me is that this is the injector we use on our 3.2l M3's in SA...

...and our FPR's are set at 5.0bar. So according to this website our 3.2l injectors flow 310cc@5bar versus the [email protected] they flow on theirs.

:slow:

Do you still need confirmation? I can check tomorrow.

However according to our favourite parts site the pink (440) are supposed to be in my car also.

I'd appreciate it, since sidewayz had quite an unexpected set of injectors on his car.

@Major, wassup, I also have the pink 440.
I do believe that the injectors might have changed depending on the production date. Gandalf and I have cars produced in the same year, like a month apart. My car runs the steel block. It could be that the aluminium block motors had sidewayz's injectors. But that's my theory, I'm not a mech.

Is your motor a steel block or aluminium?

@Gandalf Im just as special as you are lol

Mine's an aluminium block, I think I just got schneid with this engine. Wrong injectors, coked up and goopy oil, badly worn main and journal bearings, hardly any accessories, stuffed wiring and sensors, no coils or harness, missing bolts everywhere...

I've made my point, at the end of the day I'm still the idiot who bought it! :flyfun: But then again, if I had bought a perfect engine for such a small cost, I wouldn't have learnt anything. :)

Possibly because Sidewayz car has a turbo installed on it and the injectors was changed to accomodate it
