2009 E90 325i MANUAL Gearbox delayed pull away question....

Hi All,

Im noticing a weird issue, so bare with me while I try and explain it..

When I come to a stop at a traffic light or stop street, I gear down to 1st gear or neutral depending on how long the wait will be so that I dont "ride the clutch" so to speak..... either way when I engage first gear and pull away there is a still delay in the pull away, almost like the diff takes a second or two to engage before the car takes off. If I do "ride the clutch" for a second and then gear down to neutral the car stays static in motion, almost like an automatic would do when stopped on an incline...(no brakes engaged)

- I initially though it was the brakes binding, but I tested coming to a stop without pushing the brakes and the issue remains.
- Secondly I thought it was the clutch as well but it never happens in reverse gear from a stand still.

So as you can see its a very strange issue....

I would appreciate your thoughts and comments on what this could possibly be.

Peace and Respect.

I also would suspect the clutch delay valve. But on my car (F07 530d auto) i had the problem that when pulling away it felt as if i had driven over a broomstick as the revs would rise like normal but the car would feel as if it is slipping for a second and then pull away as normal. Eventually traced it to a broken engine mount (left side was completely loose/broken).

You can drill the orifice in the cdv to be slightly larger, remove it completely or get a burger motorsports modified cdv... I went with the bms version with their adjustable clutch stop
