E30 V8 monster!

So yesterday all of a sudden I found out my friend is letting his project car go, due to financial (Mother and wife doesn't want him to have fun anymore :nonono: ) reasons, and couldn't bear his heartbreak. So kept it in the "Family"

Now It's parked safely away as I'm pretty scared to drive this thing, and as you'll see in the pic's it needs a new Diff rubber mount. Going to check in at beemos if they can sort me out.

The motor is Newly redone and has only racked up just over 1500km, so an oil change is to follow too...

Aside from that some TLC on the interior and exterior and she's ready to rumble. Now I'm still to get a comprehensive list on what exactly has been done to her as the list is quite looong. But I do know this...

Ford V8 302 cubic with stroker
750 CFM Holley carb
1000HP clutch *need clarification
New 5 speed manual gearbox *need clarification
New LSDiff *need clarification
Crower Internals *need clarification

XR8 motor with the original Borg Warner T5 box (signature bent gear leaver). Nice, trust me there's way more power to be extracted. Enjoy :thumbs::thumbs::thumbs:

Brake booster is quite far removed, requires a TAP on the gas so one doesn't panic!

Surprisingly the motor smoothly runs up to 8000 RPM, its a blueprint full rebuild.

Any advice on replacing the diff rubber mount? :ty:

Take the casing off and get a poly 1 made up?!

Goldwagen does stock it and its great quality.

It'll have to be pressed in though. Might wanna remove the cover and take it to them.

Thanks for all the support and input guys :ty: Hopefully It'll be on the road tomorrow. Just have to wait till the 1st of dec for Sabie to do his magic on the newly run in motor, then we'll have some dyno figures.

It'll only be on 95, however the car was built for 102.6 and luckily the foggers and No2 has been removed. Damn else I would've been dead by now :roflol:

Ok so it's got a 3.2 E36 M3 LSDiff and some witchcraft of a mount. Any advice? I'll be taking it in for a retune and have it done with Sabie first week of December... Pics to follow.

Thats no 3.2lt m3 diff, its a std e30 diff in there.

Part 6 doesn't seem to be the same, those two chassis mounts are missing.

I see the problem now, it doesn't have the original rear cross member axle carrier on it. Thus the funny angle on the mount. Improvising with an angle iron.

A plate has been welded in , but the mounting is now in a vertical plane where it should be horizontal , the plate has bent backwards and up .This needs straightening .

i would bend it strait and weld some plates on the edges to reinforce it... clearly its not up to the job

Hi Guys thx for the input, we eventually figured the same thing. I did however look into it more and realised the cross member is not std, probably why they did the welding job. We ended up using an angle iron on the existing plate. Will see how it holds up. Going to the meet with her :rollsmile:
